Today is Day 93 which makes it 3 full months without a smoke!!!!
One really cool thing is yesterday I had my first day without one craving the whole day. I did not think bout anything having to do with smoking for a full day. SWEET!!!!
well done be proud... i have been there in past then fell off wagon.... keep going. I am back day 3
Thomas that is fantastic news, soon be at the 100 days !!!!! That is my big target to get over all the terrible threes, did you suffer at all this month ???
WOW 93 days 3 full months smoke free that's great Big Hug on it's way for you
Your first day without a crave or thoughts of smoking now that is really sweet as you say and a huge breakthrough for you and very soon it will be days and weeks where you don't give them a thought and when you do it will just be a fleeting one gone almost before you know it's there OK
Tigger dont let yourself get to down this addiction is tough I've had a really bad time with the quit but with help my my friends here and I been able to keep the quit going. Its real simple keep trying or if ya don't it will kill ya and thats what I keep saying to myself.
Deer I've had some tough days in my 3rd month, my biggest prob through my entire quit this time is my temper. It has taken every bit of my self control not to beat the crap out of someone. Just so ya know I'm not a a violent person and never have been. I would not call it suffering though. I don;t think any of us should, a pain in the butt yea. I don't remember who told me this or if I may have in a rare moment of clarity thought of this ,but here it is.....Life is a test and how you deal with it shows what type of person you are. Quitting smoking is a test and if ya slip its not a big deal..... its getting back on the horse and doing your best and being honest with yourself.
Marg thanks a ton for all your support, If you ever come to New Orleans I'm gonna take you out for the best dinner you've ever had.
To everyone thank for your kind words.
If or when I come to New Orleans I'll take you up on that offer of dinner YAY
You don't sound like a grumpy Yank any more and if I've been any help to you that makes me happy
Dear Twiste, I have been trying to come up with a way to needle you on living in the Big Easy and being called a Yank and can't really come up with anything. How 'bout them Saints? Brees is the man. Get ready for Brady and Co. I am at work right now and can't call up the quit counter but I am somewhere around day 110.
If you feel half the pride I do for walking away from smoking I know you are grinning like a mule chewing on briars. Congratulations. Well done. You da man.
Well I can't of nuthin' else. Take care and I hope you are a Saints fan. SS
Yea the Saints are doing well and I'm VERY happy about the 10 and 0 season this year thank you very much LOL. Brees is a very popular guy around here too!!! I'm hoping the Pat's play well but not to well heheheh.
I'm very happy and proud about how long I've had the quit going and a day without a thought of smoking is very motivating to me as well.
Hi, look at you 93 days done, and you had your first no crave day fantastic. We are soooo doing this, who'd a thought it, we have both had our moments but you sound really strong now. Very proud of you, do you have any treats planned?
We will be in that Penthouse with the rest before you know it.
Hey Chris and Bev and thanks for the comments, don't know about the strong part but I'm doing much better. Takin it one day at a time if ya know what I mean. Yea I bought myself a set of stereo headphones for my xbox 360 Call od Dutie gaming addiction LOL, I can now hear the other other players sneakin up on me!!!!! The last 3 day have been pretty good too, had a couple of drinks and the crave didnt come as well. Hopin this is a thing that continues. The temper thing is sttill there and I can still go from 0 to 60 in 2 seconds but it happens way less often now.
So heres to all of us who are fighting the fight............
Congrats on 3 full months!!!
It's good to read you had a day where you didn't think about them.
The good news is that you will get more and more days like that.. in fact weeks may go by where you just don't feel as though you've thought about them too.
I think pretty much once you start to get used to life as normal where you don't rely on them in any way whatsoever, you start to just get back to things how they should be. I've just hit 20 weeks as of last night.. and I don't post weekly now because i really don't feel as thought there is anything more than 'just another week' to report (eg. nothing of note to add).
so you really do eventually reach a point where you stop counting days and weeks.. and it becomes more 'months' i suppose.. so perhaps this 1 day you've experienced is the start of this for you.
Big Congratulations. I've just reached that myself and feel great - all the mad things of earlier in Month 3 seem to be a lot milder - so looking forward to them getting even less.
Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez!!! As they say in N'Awlins.
Woot make that 100 days without a cancer stick!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations on your first Century smoke free
A fantastic milestone to reach the only way now is onwards and upwards to the penthouse and beyond
reallly pleased for you bet you feel like you have turned a huge corner now, well done long may it continue for you
Yeah I'm on day 102 or something..so great to see everyone is going so well...x
Thanks guys would be feelin great about this but I woke up with a yuckie freakin cold LOL.:(. Still getting craves but most of the time they are a thought......... It's like a hmmmm smoke would be good, nah. bout once or twice a week I get a big crave and I still have my Tootsieroll pops that LOL
Thought I'd chime in on the holiday trigger talks thats been going on as well. Not worried about X mas I think I've covered those triggers(ThanksGiving, yank holiday for giving thanks for what we have and to celebrate coming to the Americas as well), New Years eve however will be my test. I manage a bar and every last day of the month I have to do inventory and that includes Dec. 31 after I work a full shift behind the bar. It usually takes about 3 to 5 hours and I sip on some champagne and well I'm quit pickled when I'm done LOL. So anyway I think I'll be fine cause I've had some drinks on occasion and while I've wanted I have not caved in.
Oh and Stump..... 12 and 0 baby this Sunday, Saint's go all the way!!!!!!
indeed, whilst I was still smoking (and I honestly didn't think I had any smoking health issues whatsoever...
i can never just have one cig, for me it would be 20 a day if i had just one puff, so i battle with the...
I am on day 3 and really not much of desire for a smoke, I just keep remembering how terrible it really...
