Day 6, I wanna scream!
Arggggggggggghhhhhhhh. I have. It's not getting any easier and my two year-old is driving me crazy. I've been stuck in the house for three weeks because we've all been ill and my car is broken. It's really getting to me now.:mad:
Sounds like you're having a rough time. But it will get better. I know everyone tells you that at the start of your quit and that it's hard to believe, but it will.
You've got to stay strong, remember that cigarettes aren't going to help the situation and if you're tempted to have one, you'll be back where you started and have to go through this all again.
Stay positive, it will get better, you've nearly done the first week and that's a big hurdle to get over.
sometimes life heaps stuff upon us until we feel we can not take anymore. Life without smokes is another thing hanging around our neck. We have to learn to deal with life's little things in another way now. If you want to scream go ahead and scream just don't scare the neighbors. I am sure you can find a peaceful place to spend a few minutes, the tub, a park, etc. Hang in there you can do this.
Sorry you're having a tough time just now but a fag really will only make it worse as you'd be so upset and mad with yourself

Eh Lisa, yeah like they say, it won't make you feel any better....there isn't just one smoke. I had a tuff time last nite too.....I feel better now

Hi Lisa, sounds like you are having a hard time without the stopping smoking. Being stuck inside with illness, your car not working and two year olds are always work, would be stressful enough on it's own, so perhaps if you had not had to go through those happenings you would not be seeing smoking as the problem.
Keep up the good work you will be so glad you did.
Oh Lisa, I am so sorry you are having a bad time of it. I can understand you feeling closed in and trapped. If you are feeling slightly better, try going for a little walk, or even stand outside and take some deep breaths, I found that really helped me. Just don't give up with the Quit, you are doing so well
Hope today's got better for you as it's progressed.
You say 'have been ill'...... are you all better now? Barring the car of course! How about you and the 2 year old just wrapping up warm and getting out and about. You must both be climbing the walls. Get out to the park (oops! just realised the time and it'd dark.... jeez I hate the nights drawing in like this) Tomorrow, get out to the park, go on a bus ride, make an adventure of it. It could lift your spirits up and of your youngster.... great distraction to for the non smoking.
Your probably at or very close to, the worst it's going to be..... it gets easier, honestly. Give yourself some recognition for getting to what is almost one whole week, given your circumstances you should be proud.
Hi Lisa, day 6 for me too and it's not fun! But, as everyone has said, it seems a shame to get this far and have dealt with all the physical cravings, to give in now. A fag will taste hideous and make you feel even worse.
Kids are not fun when you're craving, I know, I have 2!! But, bedtime comes around and you can have some time for yourself- have a pamper! I've been doing a mini facial the last 3 nights to give me something to do, and my skin is glowing! I don't have any fancy stuff, but I've made facemasks from egg whites, done steaming and facial massage with nice moisturiser. May sound bonkers but takes up a good 20 minutes at least, and I feel all nice after and smell yummy. Not of fags! XX
Cant offer much that hasn't already been said other than moral support.
Get your self and little 'un out tomorrow. Who cares what the weather's like. Time for wellys and finding the biggest puddles you can to jump in.

Thanks everyone for their support today, was finding it really tough this morning and start of the afternoon. We wanted to go out but the weather has been crapola all day!! Harrison and I did some messy painting and took our frustrations out on paper instead!!!! All of your posts really helped and I was just throwing my own toddler tantrum I guess. So sorry and thanks...I feel much better now. Thanks for the idea of a facial Deedeebel, what do you put in it???? Just egg whites? I will treat myself to one tonight. Day 7 will hopefully be better cos for me and many others it is a whole week without smoking. Woo hoo.....Much love Lisa X
Face pack- 1 egg white, whisk till meringue-like, slap on face, wash off with COOL water after 5 minutes. If you use hot it will cook on your face! Good for tightening pores and gives an instant 'lift'. Another fave (which I am doing tonight!) is natural yoghurt with honey and oatmeal (well, porrige oats as that's all I have in the kitchen!!), mix to paste, slap on and leave for 10 minutes- leaves skin scrummy and smooth. I have also been making bath sachets, toners and various wierd things- my kitchen has turned into a mini spa!! Fave toner so far (this sounds wierd but it's fab) is tomato and milk! Lifts all dead skin off and leaves face all radiant.

11pm i will of been smoke free for a week and up till now i think iv done well but its been realy hard today...
sorry just having a rant, no one I work with really understands they either smoke and have no intention...
gonna get...I am so tempted to get some sort of NRT just to calm my nerves..... sorry for been so negative...
