Yes its already Day 6 of Champix and I am feeling ok, I'm gradually going off Ciggies, all of them taste revolting now. I am only smoking out of habit and not that i need them. I have decided that Quit Day is Thursday for me so please wish me luck. My Moods have been ok, however yesterday I cried and cried and cried for no reason whatsoever. It was embarrassing really.
Feeling increasingly sicky after taking the pills, and this lasts for about half an hour but I can cope. Tomorrow is the first day of the strong dose, I do hope it'll be ok

Champix is very good (in my opinion). I'm on Day 12 of my quit but into my third week of champix. I quit on day 8 of champix.
I had the sickness thing but took advise from this fourm and ate before I took the pill, it worked for me. I just get the dreams now.
Just some advice - I thought champix was like a magic pill and once I'd taken it I wouldn't want to smoke again. It does help tremendously with the cravings (the chemical ones) but you will still need willpower to overcome the pyschological ones.
Use this forum they are so lovely on here great support as they have all been through or going through the same things.
Well done for deciding to go smoke free and goodluck with your quit!
Good luck. Sounds like Champix is kicking in now. Just don't *force* yourself to smoke if you don't want one. As Tinkerbell said, Champix is great, but you've still got to be the one not to put that cigarette in your mouth and light it. Keep positive, keep reminding yourself how well you're doing and keep posting here. I've found the support a great help

Thanks Tinks, I appreciate your message, I know I feel really nervous about packing the ciggies in, but then I feel excited too .. its weird really I think its the habit thats going to be the hardest thing to break. I have such a set routine in the morning and thats going to be the difficult to break.
I'm on day 28 and I've been on champix 5 weeks (ish) and I can honestly say I could not have done this without them. Even though will power is what will make you a non smoker Champix takes the edge off it.
Good luck for Thursday, remember we are here when and if you need us.

Yes I can see that this forum is going to be really important for me. Especially during my tea breaks and lunchbreaks when I am so used to having a ciggie.. I will be here all the time I think for the first few days and weeks .. thank you again

Thanks so much Christine .. I really appreciate it. I went to my Mums for the weekend and I can't smoke there. I noticed for much of the day I didn't even think of my cigarettes which was really weird. We went out for dinner in the evening and even then I was fine, but My Dad slipped out for a ciggie, at the end and I found myself wishing I could have one, but that feeling didn't last at all long.
You will be really nervous, I was it felt that something was missing but as others said on here smoking was big part of my life for a long time.
This forum really is great and there were times I found hard particulalry in the early days. I know I'm only on day12 but already it's easier and I don't think about them so much anymore. I have tried other things such as cold trukey, patches, inhaltor but none of this worked for me (they do for other though). Champix seems to be working well (touch wood).
Use this forum for as it has what has helped me not give in ecspecially as I don't want to let my fellow OctoQuits down.
Just thought I would say, my worst day (so far) was day 7 on Champix and I was quitting on day 8. I just got myself so worked up about it and in hindsight I wish I had waited 1 more day but me being me I just wanted it over with.
What I'm saying is, don't put yourself under more pressure than you need to, if you decide not to give up on the day you have set that's fine no worries.
However it is really exciting too (in a very sad sort of way:))
Hi Guys, Im on Day 7 now and on the full strength of Champix. Feeling very sicky today, though I have just eaten lunch and its helping Ciggies are now even worse than before if thats possible and I have only had 2 and a half whereby normally I would have had at least 8 by now. The three I had I had to pretty much force down me
I'm actually almost looking forward to quit day which is Thursday now
