Day 4 of Champix (sorry - not sure whether I should post this still in the day 1 section, as I'm still smoking currently).
This morning, I woke up fine, drove to the station and went to the coffee shop for my lovely morning tea.
Standing waiting, when all of a sudden, I broke out in a cold sweat, had pains in my stomach and felt really sick.
I'm on Champix and I hadn't taken my tablet (take it at 11am after food) but still came over all perculiar and it lasted about 20 mins.
Now, I have either had a dodgy stir fry or is this the start of the waves of Champix sickness? After the sickness waves, I felt completely knocked out, as if I could sleep standing up. As long as I know what it is, I can cope with it but it did worry me a bit this morning and the only thing that's changed in my life is Champix.
Any advice you can provide would be great. I know that my pharmasist said to inform her of any changes I felt, but didn't want to report food poisoning, rather than Champix related side effects.
Thank you as always for your support and responses.

Sorry to hear that you are poorly. Probably best to talk to your GP or chemist, as drugs effect people differently. I am not a medic, but I can tell you that I get nausea and a sharp headache after taking my morning tablet (even with food and water). It doesn't last long, and it worth the minimal suffering as the drug is a miracle drug, as far as I am concerned.
I have not experienced what you describe, but it could be the drug. In any case, good luck!!
Much better now thank you, maybe it was just a bug.
I'm on a 2 tablets a day thing now, but to be honest, I don't really feel any change which is worth noting. But I'm carrying on, as everyone here seems to confirm that at some point the pills will kick in. I hope so!

Thanks for answering though, appreciate it.

They will Bob, you maybe just a late starter. Don't lose hope my love. Glad you feel better though.
Dont rush it or give up, the sickness wont be the Champix so long after taking it, I still sometimes feel a bit sick even now 6 weeks after being on them, but it is more or less immediate.
It could take the whole 2 weeks before you get the urge to stop or it may be sooner but the main thing is to keep at it.
Knowledge is power and the best advise I can give, is to do your homework and stay on here as we are with you
Thanks for all your respnses! Hoping it's not the stork!
Made a massive error last night. Went out, was concious that I needed to eat before taking my second dose, woke up this morning and I have forgotten to take it. I know that I can just take today as normal but now I'm worried they won't work. Has anyone else done this?
Don't worry about missing the odd one it won't stop them working at all just take them as normal but don't take the one you missed OK just the normal daily dose and you'll be fine OK
I often forgot to take one even early one like you
Sorry you felt poorly yesterday I think it was probably a bug going round I felt ill all day Tuesday and iffy on Wednesday but am fine again now but if you continue to feel unwell see your Dr to set your mind at rest
I think you need to relax about the Champix. I was waiting for them to make some sort of amazing change to me, but it didn't work like that. Just have a cigarette when you want one and don't have one if you don't want one. Don't 'force' yourself to smoke, but don't force yourself not to. When you stop, you'll just know it's right.
Like the others, I don't think your sickness was Champix related - usually the nausea hits straight away. Don't worry about the one you missed, just leave it and continue as normal. It won't affect their efficiency.
You lot are all so lovely, thank you so much for all your support. I had a dentist appointment this morning and it wasn't until 9am. Usually, I'd have had 2 ciggies prior to going as I am reasonably scared of dentists but I didn't really fancy it this morning. Had my first one of the day just now.
I think about it a lot but I must confess, today the inner crave seems to have gone, so I think about it but I don't actually seem to want to take it any further than that. The ciggie I had at 10am was only smoked half way down. Weird.
I'm off to Malaysia for 2 weeks on business from 29th October with 2 non smokers. It would be nice to leave the UK smoke free and also not gun for the exit on arrival, wouldn't it? How strange that would be and how nice not to be ruled by the fags. I'm not buying any duty free for the first time in 15 years and for the first time in my life, I might just have a little smile about that.
Again, thank you all for your continued support. Lets see how we all get on over the coming days and I will def post while in Malaysia.
