It feels good to say that I'm half way through day 4 and still going strong, however I have had some strong urges to smoke - more so today than I did yesterday.
It didn't help that I found out this morning that I'll have a hefty bill to pay for repairs to my car, but hey, I've seen the urge through without too much trouble so that's a positive!
I just hope that no-more obstacles like these are heading my way during the next couple of weeks as this could make life very difficult.
Anyway, I hope all of you guys are doing fine. If anyone else is on day 4 today, please give me a shout. Would be good to accompany someone through this who is on the same days as myself.

Day 4 for me also. I'm feeling a wee bit better today. I found Sunday and yesterday awful. Still thinking about them all the time though, which I'm finding frustrating more than anything.
We are over half way to being non-smokers for a whole week though, and that is something to feel pretty good about, so Congratulations, keep at it, both of us can do it, and as time goes on, it does get slightly easier and easier so hold on to that.
Edited to add: Just seen your in Scotland too - Woohoo!!!!
Congratulations to you too. You've got the right attitude by the sounds of things so thanks for sharing your encouragement.
Like yourself, I'm constantly thinking about them and no matter how hard I try to keep busy and take my mind off it, they're still at the back of my mind. Happy days!
All the things you're feeling are normal this early in a quit and yes it does get easier as time passes it gets a bit easier everyday even if you don't always notice it
One day you'll get up and think hey I feel great today

I'm going cold turkey. How about you?
I'm on the patches. CT isn't easy at all, so I think you are doing really, really well. Hats off to you
This is my first wholehearted attempt at giving up so CT is my first option. I was offered patches, inhalator and a few other options, but I thought I'll give CT a try first and if that doesn't work then it may mean that I need some other support.
How does it feel with the patches?
(I just finished my lunch - major urges to go and pinch a ciggy off someone in the office, but thankfully typing this has reduced the need to go. Phew!)
The patches are ok. Physically I have no need for a cigarette at all. No cravings, no up and down moods etc. It's just mentally at the moment, I'm finding it a bit hard. Everywhere I look, someone is holding a cigarette and I'm thinking "lucky sod" rather than "poor addicted, freedomless ashtray with 2 legs". lol
Well done for not going out with your workmates. Believe me it will be sweet joy come November when we have horizontal rain and gale force winds
I'm pleased that typing removed that urge to go pinch a fag off someone so a trigger beaten that's great
SS if you click the bottom link in my signature and scroll down a fair way you'll find a bit there about the mental part of quitting I found it a big help with this part
Yep, I'm struggling with the mental part aswell. I still feel as though I want a cigarette.
I would like one to feel that buzz again and enjoy the age old ritual of lighting up after a big slap up meal - but, I know for sure, that this is just the little nicotine demons in my head that are trying to tell me this. I don't need them to live my life, but they need me and the little feckers aint getting nowt from me today! (I'm rabbling on now - probably cos I'm all edgy at the moment)
Aye, you're right, we definitely won't miss the smokes when it's -10º with 6 inches of snow piled up around the smoking shelters! Heh heh!
Milner, I'm the exactly the same, but I won't let some plants wrapped up in paper get to me. Why don't you get yourself something nice with the money you've saved today.
I've got a list as long as my arm for rewards lol Anything from an obscenely expensive pair of boots to a new bathroom lol. I am putting some of the money I am saving away, and will pick something up for christmas with it every week. That way, in my mind, unless I stay cigarette-free, the people that matter to me are not going to get the pressies that I want them to get. A bit of an added incentive, I guess.
