Sneaking in

I'm sneaking back into day one after a massive row with OH last night when I picked up his fags and lit one. Only smoked half of it and I realised what I was doing and put it out but I still smoked half of it

So it's back to day 1 and here we go again.

Sorry to read this, but arguments do seem to flare up in the early days of quitting sadly. Lord knows I was not thinking straight in the first week, and in the end i just told my OH, that i would be walking away from any arguments rather than standing and get myself wound up in the heat of the moment. So i did precisely that. I hate arguments, yet find myself in them involuntarily sometimes.

You need a time out place and agree with your OH that if you retreat there, he must not follow you and give you some peace while you collect your thoughts there. Mine was out in our back yard, cool breeze blowing.. birds nestling down for sleep but still chirruping in the trees.. but it worked.

Agree with your OH to get him to move his smokes out of sight in the house too.. you are trying to quit, if you see them and you are flared up.. all reason goes out of the window and you pick them up sometimes without thinking.

Remember a post i made a few weeks back? you look for an excuse to smoke one... any excuse? unfortunately that happens.. so by removing all temptation.. and set rules of engagement should problems start.. it makes those situations easier. You have to set a point of which you will not cross.. you know where your boiling point is, so don't let the pot boil that far.. back off even if you are the one in the right... your quit is more important than any exchange of views or points.

Stupid thing was it was a fight over nothing and was probably started by me and my foul mood yesterday.............but don't tell him that

But I'm back in day 1 with my tail between my legs and ready to keep going.

OH is lying in the hospital and I have returned from the police station and all the charges have been dropped

No seriously I am doing fine............had a much better day today.

Hubby is out watching the footie so I've got peace and quiet tonight.

All fags have been banned from the house so it's all good
