Pleased to report iv been free of the patches for 24 hours and its honestly fine, iv done it my way with the help of the smoking nurse at my GP and gone down and even cut patches in half people may take sooner to come off but I'm pleased with my way. It may be 27 weeks and 4 days etc but I'm now free! Rather proud moment as I did think at one point I would have a patch on forever and a day.
Ps I didn't tell anyone either as I was so worried I would fail and put one back on, but hey ho me I'm truly free :):):)

Well done for sticking to your patch programme. there is absolutely no point in coming off them early and risking relapse. We are here to quit in whatever way suits us . Every quit is a valid and equal quit.
Thank you everyone, I nearly chickened out this weekend and put it back on but the anxiety, dizzy spells and grumpy I mean soooooo grumpy phased has passed and I'm doing ok thank god

Oooh that's fab you hung in there!!
Might work or might be daft, but for the security of having *something* there, you might find a knee plaster does the job? Bit like the post it notes I "smoke" when the craves do my head in. Just a placebo really!!
Thanks Kat, Gemma in all honesty my husband was laughing because when I had the grumpy attacks Friday I was stood rubbing my chest! A nice little habit iv picked up checking my patch was still on lol, but no patch there. But I like your thinking and I might just try that when I start feeling anxious.

Lol, well if it works, it works - a lot of quitting is all in the mind, so whatever makes it manageble has to be a good thing
