G'day everyone from Australia :)

I made the decision to quit cold turkey to start with about 4 weeks ago and been doing reasonably well with help of nicorette microtab classic tablets under the tongue (take 2-3 a day nicotine hit).

I am having a habit I guess of craving badly a ciggy in the evening and allowing myself sometimes. Any ideas how to cope with this one so I can move on with the no smoking.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Thanks in anticipation

Annie :D

Hi Annie :D

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

I'm sorry you're having a problem in the evenings but it happens sometimes I always tried to keep my hands busy which helped a lot as did drinking water yes I know it sounds daft but it does help as does fruit juice they all help with the craves

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK

Love

Hi Annie :D

Yeah this is a great place to be with help whenever you need it we all help and support each other

So please make use of it especially in the sometimes difficult early part of your quit

I know that I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for this forum I would most probably still be smoking instead of 8 months quit

Love
