Day 6 on Champix

Hi all...

Im on day 6 of champix and I dont really notice a change in my desire to smoke... Havent set a specific quit day yet but I know its coming within the next week and Im feeling a little scared and unsure. IS it me or have others had similar experiences? :confused:

Don't worry the champix will will really kick in very soon now OK

You're on day 6 with it so still on the smaller dose once you get on the higher dose you'll notice a big difference within a couple of days in the amount you want to smoke

So no it isn't you it's just the way champix works OK

I myself didn't notice a difference until the second week but oh boy did it kick in then and by day nine I really didn't want to smoke at all

You have until the end of the 2nd week on them anyway before they recommend you stop as you know and it won't matter if you go a little over that time limit but I don't think you'll need to do that anyway

I was talking to someone here yesterday about the same thing and I think on day 8/9 and he was just taking a couple of puffs and putting them out again as he didn't want them at all

Hi there

I posted a very similar post when I was on day 6/7 of champix. I honestly thought they weren't working and that I wasn't going to stop smoking. Then on day 12 I only smoked about 4 fags and didn't really enjoy them so on day 13 I stopped. I have now been fag free for 10 days today.

My sister smoked up until day 14 of champix and she hits her 1 week smoke free today.

Everyone is different so don't panic you will know when the time is right for you. It just takes longer for some people than others.
