I have decided to come of the inhaler today, I am 37 days into the quit and the cravings seem to have subsided a lot so I thought I would give being nicotine free a go, anybody got any advice on what to expect or tips to combat any increase in cravings? Or should I not really even notice any difference as my nicotine intake is now so low anyway?
Thanks in advance

I don't have experience of the inhalor, but others who do will be along to give you advice on that. If it feels like the right time for you to go without it then that's probably a very good sign. As for dealing with the craves, often drinking water helps. Keep busy, distract yourself, clean something. It all helps. And remember, they don't last long and each one gone is one less to come.
Thanks for the advice, I am almost 2 days nicotine free now and have found it ok, craves seemed to increase slightly in intensity (might just be in my head though). I am starting to believe that I can not smoke ever again
Well done on your quit!! I have no experience of inhalors either but I came off the patches after a month. I found they were stopping me from having a good sleep and I felt confident enough to see if I could do without. I ve heard so much negative stuff on NRT, that they are manufactured by the tobacco companies, that they just want to keep u hooked and its not necessary to do a 12 week programme they just after your money. What I will say is they helped me so much in the early days, I had enough to deal with the mental side of the quit never mind the physical aswell. I didnt really notice any withdrawal symptoms dont know whether its becuse I was feeling a lot better anyway not smoking or what. I think if youre ready, your mind set is strong it doesnt matter, nothing will get in your way!!
Well done on your quite so far. I don't have any experience of the inhaler either I wanted to say the withdrawal is different for each of us, you have made the right decision good luck.
6 weeks quit tomorrow, 5 days off of the inhalor, my advice to others would be don't worry about coming off of the NRT, i havn't found it too bad at all to be honest (and I must admit I was a bit concerned about being totally nicotine free). In fact now I am nicotine free I am seriously considering a detox plan to get rid of all the toxins in my body, think I must be having a midlife crisis lol (I keep asking my wife why I couldn't have just got a sports car and a young girlfriend, but she doesn't think I am funny :eek

That was my experience too! One word of caution and it may not happen to you but I had a resurge of cravings the 2nd week after coming off NRT, but the good news was that within a couple of days I felt absolutely no different from when I was using NRT!
Thanks for the warning, I will be on my guard for any cravings sneaking up on me in the next week or so. My main problem now does seem to be complacency, though I have failed due to that before so am trying to keep on my toes this time.
6 weeks quit and nearly a week totally nicotine-free, Excellent stuff. I'm pleased you are finding it quite straight forward, and I hope that continues. stay strong.
