So i cracked, on day 8 :(. I felt soooo depressed this morning, it was really bad. Nothing to do with the quit, I can assure you, I felt like self harming. I just felt like I needed a cigarette to make me feel better. So I went to another tenant in my block of flats, and he sold me a small pack of rolling tobacco.
I had three cigarettes....
then I quit...again.
Ironically I feel far from happy now, and had to come on and let you folks know what happened.
On a happier subject, my first date with Gemma went really - it was a lovely day and we went and relaxed by Rutland Water (a lake in my county), then I cooked a homemade bolognese for dinner, and we watched The Butterfly Effect on DVD. Wow, what a film. I discovered something today: Gemma is more important to me than tobacco (and I hardly know her).
Well it's day one again, and I've got all my stuff sorted. I just hope I don't feel really down this week. Like I say, the bad feelings from the quit went after 4 days, this was something else.
Lots of love out to the MMQ Crew, who supported me in every step, I hope I didn't let you down.
Love, P. x

So sorry you had a slip and had three don't beat yourself up about it you are back on track again now and that is what's IMPORTANT after all and see no real reason to go back to day one I am sure you're not happy at the moment with yourself but put it behind you and carry on
On a happier note I am so pleased your date with Gemma went well and I know how lovely it is by Rutland Water I went there several times a while back now
We are all here for you anytime you need us and I hope you feel happier again soon and Paul you didn't let any of us down OK
You haven't failed, you have only stumbled at a hurdle, but what is really good about it all is already, you've got up dusted yourself down and realised what happened, next time you get in that situation, you will be stronger to deal with it.
Glad your date with Gemma went well, I was in Rutland once for a few days in February 1985 camping out on exercise when I was in the RAF ...All I remember was ... it was very cold lol
You have not let anyone down, as everybody else has told you, So u slipped slightly but u are back with us, and surely 3 fags dont take u out of our crew... Its was just a blip

Noted, thanks Karen.
I feel better tonight. I kind of have a theory as to why I was so low this morning. I've been drinking...a lot. But now I'm drinking Dr Stuarts and Pukka Detox :).
Weird that I went so mad on drink, but I guess at the time it was a substitute.
I'm having a good night though. Correction, I'm having a great night.
You must be around my neck of the woods then, Rutland water close to me. I wondered how the date went! You got straight back on the wagon which is terrific and yes, cutting back on the drink may help!
Hi paul, so glad you feel better than earlier, only just got on pc to see posts, you didnt let anyone down and no one fails while they still try, only giving up trying is a fail!!
Well done for sticking with it and glad your date gone well, you shouldnt go back to day one just for a slip, you are an MMQ Crew member so you cant!
Good on you for getting right back up and quitting again - I think that takes so much strength. You inspire me, to keep going, and i know you will too. Keep strong.
Dont worry that you have given in, ive had loads of failed quits.. Its about mind set....... it could take you ages to get there... but keep on trying... cos one day it just all clicks into place. Im going to do it this time. Wait for your right time
Just found out about your wee slip. I totally agree with all whats been said. Don't beat yourself up all that will achieve will be to make you feel even more peed off than you do already. So what u had a few cigs youd have smoked a lot more without the quit. Every time we give up and have a slip we learn something new and then apply it next time.
Once a MMQer always a MMQer so youre not going to get booted into next month lol.
Glad you've found some happiness with Gemma warms the cockles of your heart ahh
Right mate just do what you got to do theres a lot of people who want to support you so thanks for coming back and telling your tale.
