Hi Tooshay

Sorry you are having it bad at the moment

Please try to remember though....in the scheme of your smoking "career" it is just a moment....

I had exactly what you are experiencing really bad at the start

My Junkie talk was nipping at my heels ALL day........every minute....every second!

smoke smoke smoke smoke smoke! on and on ..... I guess that is happening to you now?

All I can say is try to let it wash over you!

Try not to fight it...What resists - persists! (off another site somewhere)

Try to step back from your craves, try to see them for what they are. Try to look at them rather than be slap bang in the middle of them!

Go for a walk, as you say, exercise is good.

Take deep breaths through your nose and let it out really slowly through pursed lips (as if you were whistling)

Carbon dioxide can be quite calming so let it out slowly.

Any age is the right age to quit. I'm sure you know that deep down.

You CAN do this...You ARE doing this! :)

Take care

Greg

Don't think too far ahead

Dont think of the future

Just take it one moment at a time....

It will ease and IT DOES GET BETTER!

Baby steps...

Take care

Greg

Its my 14th day now and I too still get strong cravings its awful - but we cant go back, its not worth it!! I could murder a cigarette too today. Had a test today because its been very stressful and I havent had one - I cant, I simply cant put myself through this again. Keep going - we will get there.

Its a shame for my daughter who has to cope with my moods now - I sulk, get angry, get depressed, still cry at times, and sometimes I feel happy:)

Yep, All great advice, feeling a lot calmer now. I think it was a combination of not sleeping and no appetite. I have started taking the patch off at night to see if I could sleep, and was a bit late putting it back on this morning, Im going to start remembering to put it on a hour before I get up (leave in my bedside cabinet) as some one on here suggested . I will do whatever it takes and use as many aids as I need to get myself through this.

Cheers folks

That really does work tooshay!!

I did it this morning and had a good night's sleep without a massive crave first thing :)

Have been keeping my patches on my bedside table with a pair of scissors so the first thing I do every morning is pop on a new patch - better than waking up and stumbling out the back door inside 10 minutes like i used to for a fag :(

You can do it, and it's always worth stopping smoking!!

Glad your feeling a bit better,

I'm on day 11 and I can completely sympathise with you - last few days have been a real struggle, much more so than last week.

Your doing really well, I feel like having a tantrum tonight!!but after yesterday's shit day I'm learning the crave will pass - might take all day but it will pass;) and after getting through it we will be so proud!

I'm hanging on to the thought if I have one I will stink, it's really cold outside and also I be so angry with myself!!!!

Another day tomorrow chin up you can do it!!!

Thank you haze 56, wow you have done amazingly!!!!

How do you feel? Please tell me where you are at now in your quit the cravings are not as intense!!!! Im enjoying quitting in a sadistic kind of way I feel free but also feel sad that I have spent so many years waiting and planning a cig. I can't believe how much it took over my life and that I never realised it!

Did you feel the same at the beginning of your quit?

Anyway onwards and upwards!!!! Day 12 and 11 hours!!!
