Well, i ended up quitting after dinner yesterday due to running out of tobacco! Had one fag from my mum at 8.50, and patch went on at bedtime!
I have been here drinking tea and having a puff on the inhalator, and then when I realised I had been puffing on it for quite a while (head rush), I went to put it in an ashtray!!!!(of which we dont own anymore) Just goes to show how habitual smoking patterns are!
Anyway i am feeling great and looking forward to seeing the back of the horrible smokers cough I woke up with! So far, so good!
Thanks all,
Rob

Hi Caroline
I think you both need to read the following but I promise the crankiness does not last long
Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
I had one really weak moment today, and went to Tesco`s and bought some. Only had one, which I put out half way through, will try the patches tomorrow, which I forgot until this afternoon and I wanted to have a bath tonight, which would damage the patch.
Hi Rob-very funny ref: the ash tray-the things that are ingrained into our psyche!!! Even after 6months quit, i have sometimes pat my pockets to check i have a lighter LOL!!!
I need to keep busy, so after finising work I went home to do a bit of tidying up.
First: Had my head in the oven for 20 minutes, husband volunteering to turn the gas on when he had a craving.
Second: Nearly broke the handle on the dyson and destroyed the corners on the skirting boards.
Third: Made enough soup and buns to feed a small country.
The cravings are still bad and the need to nip to the shop for a packet of ten is bad. I wake up in a morning with the need to have a smoke but at the moment not giving in.
Looks like you and I have quit around the same time and from baccy as opposed to ready-made cigs
Dunno about you, but I am soooo spaced out it's unbelievable! Also finding it really difficult to concentrate too...luckily I'm in the office so I doubt it'll make much difference!
Hey RMW124, Caroline, Starless, AND Jan..... welcome..... lots of March quitters... good going, guys! Yup, you have by noticed the first few days are hard...... for some really hard. The next couple of weeks (2-3) not so fun...... really, not so fun at all............ but then around week 3/4 something wonderful.... for me at least. Everyone is really so different but your body doesn't get the cravings after 2-3 weeks and things get easier. No one can really give a time frame.... I felt better on week 4. Others it is before or later..... all I can tell you it is worth it..... I loved to smoke. I never thought I would ever be ABLE to quit (even though I wanted to as all smokers do) but I did and I feel good....... sure... still irritable at time.... just like when I was smoking if I am honest. Pms, ya know! Hang in there, guys...... you really CAN do this.... go day by day and support each other! Good luck!
