well done russell, keep reminding yourself of why you are quitting, the little nicodemon can be quite cunning, but if you are prepared, you can beat it. My advice is to avoid caffeine, drink loads of fruit juice and keep chilled. Read up on all the sites posted on this forum, the whyquit site is fab, read something on there yesterday that hit home so hard it had me blubbering like a fool. It's all good stuff, even the blubbering, emotions have got to get out somehow, laugh, cry, but don't have another puff.

Hi Russell,

I'm on day 2 as well, I had trouble sleeping too I just couldn't seem to get comfy no matter what I did! Im also really bored because I'm not smoking. I was going to write cant smoke and then realised I can smoke if I want too but i dont, actually thats a lie I do want too but I'm not going too... I guess thats the key to getting through it all!

Hope you stay strong!

Louise

Well done Russell and Louise.

These first few days are the toughest but it is SO worth sticking it out. Once you get to the end of the first week you will feel great. Remember your reasons for quitting (and if you haven't already, post them on this site in the section for 'reasons') then keep reminding yourselves of them.

Read and UNDERSTAND your addiction - when you know WHY you are feeling like you do, it is so much easier to deal with your feelings.

Good luck - stick with it and keep posting!

Well done Russel and Louise!

Everything has been said above so not much to add.

It is great that you have made a quit buddy of each other, you can go through the quit together which i think helps loads.

Really proud of you both for sticking with it, and dont it feel good knowing that you are doing something good for your body instead of poisoning it :)

Well done

Denise
