Well my will power must have been even stronger than I thought it was going to be. I actually made it to day 2
Today I gave the old man neighbor his smoke and put the rest away. I think having possession of cigarettes is actually helping me quit. Weird right? It’s the feeling of "if you really need to have a cigarette they are right there so go ahead and wreck it for yourself, jerk approach"
Anyway, I like most others at this stage have the sore throat, the ear ache and didn't sleep good last night but I remember that from this part the last time so overall not too bad.
Well good luck everyone and hope to make it to the big day tomorrow - day 3- where the nicotine is out of your body and it becomes a mind over matter game.

thats great Just shows that the fear of not acomplishing our goals is worse than actually giving it a go!
I've still got some packets of cigarettes in my drawers just because I like thinking that it's me making the choice so you're not wierd at all a few ppl think this way as well.
Hope your day 2 is good, glad to see you looking forward to day 3!

I was exactly the same as this. I stil have a box with a few in sitting in my shed (where I used to smoke) I could probaly throw them out now i'd forgot they were there until I read your post.
Levs - It may be better to leave them there - what could it hurt? The longer you leave them the more stale and disgusting tasting they will become
rachelww1 - Thanks for the support. While I am feeling a little wishy washy about day 3 I think I will pull through
Gaynor x - I saw your cereal quitter comment before. Once we get past this stupid smoking thing the fruit loops, honeycombs, rice krispies.... are going to be cake.
SLB - "I've still got some packets of cigarettes in my drawers just because I like thinking that it's me making the choice so you're not weird at all a few ppl think this way as well" - having a choice is way better than being stuck with the idea that I can't have something. Hope it works.
Have a great day everybody and look forward to chatting soon
I have a little free time before my next meeting so I am at the beach. It is so calm and peaceful here that it seams like the perfect place to sit on the rock betty and smoke!!!!!. Of coarse I'm not going to do it but maybe I can take a picture so you all can see what i'm talking about.
Pol- its hard to tell from my phone screen but it looks like I may have been flying my spaceship upside down. I thought it was on auto pilot - lol just kidding
you know sparky, that's one of my favourite things about quitting... while you're a smoker very few moments of relaxation or celebration feel 'complete' without a cigarette.... you just wait, a few days/weeks on you won't need this anymore and you'll be able to appriciate that amazing photo/place for just what it is
It's really nice to not get the 'something's missing feeling' hang in there
