Why do I feel like I'm really missing something brilliant, Day 3 - 12 were great, thinking I've this sorted, read loads of stuff but it's back in my head that a smoke would be sweet even though I know it wouldn't - wtf is going on in my head and why won't it stop. Only gone longer than this with patches before, once they were done I was straight back on the fags.
Of course it is still tough - you did well to cope so brilliantly from day 3 - 12 but none of us are out the woods yet! You still have to fight on - remember the monkey b*stards will try to get you when you are off-guard or in other words you are feeling confident and therefore a little bit complacent. DON'T allow them to talk you into lighting up - you will gain NOTHING and lose so much that you have done so far.
Nobody said this was going to be easy, but it WILL get easier - stick it out with the rest of us mate.
As Jerry and Nic have said above. You can not let the Monkey Team down hun, you have to stay strong and get through the bad days. Guarantee when you wake up tomorrow you will feel so much better. It's going to be a hard habit to break but we can do it hun, look at all the others that have suceeded.
Cheers Nic, it actually does, I went out earlier thinking I really needed a smoke, but came home thinking thank god I don't smoke anymore Job done for another day at least
well done , another step further........a nice quote : your life is a reflection of what you hold inside you, and what you hold inside you is always under your control...........
What's going on in your head? It's the monkey! He's living in there without your permission... squatting... he's a tough bugger to evict, but you're well on the way to getting him out! Keep it up man, good job on not caving. Wise words there from krismatt, an inspirational quote!
.... there will be days (after 1 week and 2 weeks and even after 1 month and 2 months) that will see the resurgence of the Monkey B@stard... DO NOT LET HIM WIN.... It is a question of discipline... STRENGTH and HONOR... think of all the twits and gits that may have told you that you cannot do it... Do not let them prevail and mockingly laugh behind your back... YOU... YOU must be the one who smiles sardonically at them through the window....

In truth the Monkey never leaves, but without feeding it gets so weak that it can't bother you.
However, feed it (even once) and it will be back at full strength before you know it, reminding you at every turn that it needs more!!!!
