... and it's not over!

I always knew Sundays would be the tough days and today (day 7) has been the hardest one yet. Sundays are tough because I used to really enjoy the cigarette with a cuppa after I had been out on my horse. Then the afternoon, sitting with family after Sunday dinner, drinking wine, port etc always included cigarettes!

Today we are not having dinner til 4.30 so it will only be the evening that I fear I will miss the ciggies.

On a positive note - my sister will be coming over with her new baby so there will be no smoking in the house.

Also - I have failed my quitting attempts before because I have allowed the nicotine demons to convince me that I could just allow myself a couple of ciggies just on a Sunday, no other day! Of course that works doesn't it??!! NOT!

Pass on some good vibes please that I get through this evening (I know I will really I'm not going to cave in but I know it will be tough!):D

Thanks BB,

I did see your thread with the graph that has the blip on day 7!

It really does apply to me cos I really did see having a ciggie as a little reward - you know, for doing all the ironing, for doing a day at work, cleaning the stable out properly etc so I do associate ciggies with reward!!!

BUT as my friend pointed out to me - lung cancer, heart disease and being broke all the time is hardly a good reward!!

Thanks for your reply - it really helps sometimes just to write down how I'm feeling!

Ahh and the smell of horse-sh*t is so much sweeter!

If only I could the bottle the smell of my horse I would have the house smelling of it! (it does already though according to my non-horsey husband!!)

I've done it! The family have all gone home. We had our usual Sunday Dinner with plenty of wine flowing and out came the port (which is the point when the ciggies come out!) and it didn't bother me at all that I wasn't smoking. I even sat with my husband after they had all gone enjoying a drink while he smoked and I didn't wish I was having one.

In fact - when I say enjoying a drink, I really mean enjoying! We bought some very nice wine back from France last year and I have always liked it but today it tasted really good - it was only later that it occured to me that maybe I can taste things better now!

Well that's a week of tobacco free! Hooray!

Could it have been the sweet smell of horse-sh*t ?

;):)

Crikey! You could be right!

My family are non-horsey and put up with my obsession with Jerry-Lee Monster quite well!

Maybe the sweet smell of horse-sh*t is worse than the stale ciggie smell. But on second thoughts maybe not!
