Hi Dan

Well done hun on quitting :) and welcome to the forums. They really are a great bunch of people here who have all been through what we are going through so can give us sound advise.

I can really relate to the smoking on way to work, my first day back today and i always have a ciggy as soon as i dropped my son off at nursery and was on my way to work, felt a bit weird not having that ciggy on route and again when leaving work, but also felt good not standing outside in the cold like the others were today having their ciggys.

Denise

Hi there Dan,

I've been quit for 4 days (day 5 2moro). All is going well!! I quit becuase I hav a new year baby now - my wife gave birth early on new years day to a baby boy and I don't want baby Lincoln to inhale my horrible fumes!

I am chewing gum all the time as well, although my hardest struggle is not smoing in the car coz I drive all around Perth and Kinross with work. But I tend to stop and get some juice or a sweet to help with those car cravings, and also my car smells good now with a complete clear out and a new air freshner lol.

Well done for getting to day 3 - u r doing really well! Just keep urself busy and u will be fine :)

As tony wud say keep the faith

tony

been meaning to stop for months but always found reasons not too. work christmas party and so on. oh one more pack then i will stop that was a fav of mine.

I am proud, also got a friend whos quitting will direct him hear.

As i see it my challenges are

1 A full week (01.00am 10.01.09)

2 Night in pub

with a full week behind me will be easyer not to smoke on sat night.

That's a good way to look at it,

Be aware that there will be other trigger points that crop up but basically 1 day at a time and realistic goals is good!

Best wishes

Nic
