Today is my 61st smoke free day. At 10pm tonight I will have completed 2 calendar months to the minute (so I think I can get away with posting in here to say I'm into month 3... it's only a few hours early!)- it's going so quickly now and is becoming really natural. I don't need sweets or gum (I still like my sugar free mint and vanilla sweets, but that's just cos I like em ) to distract me or to give me something to do.
I get up and get ready for work without giving cigarettes another thought (which surprised me the first time it happened - but again, happens everyday so doesn't surprise me anymore), and I spend the day the same way. The occasional fleeting thought gets told "no" and then it's gone, and I have once again asserted my freedom.
And you know what? I feel really good. Very healthy, very much more alive than I did just 61 days ago.
All of which is a welcome relief from the hassle I had a couple of weeks ago when I had the roughest time of the quit so far due to being injured and stuck at home bored.
Never mind, I beat that and will beat it again if I need to - with the same method. The method? Not smoking - 1 minute, 1 hour and 1 day at a time until the problem is finished with. It's worked so far!
Onwards and Upwards!
My "tradition" dictates that I should post a link to an article that I found helpful and/or inspiring. So here it is: CLICKY LINKY

You have every right to feel extremely pleased with yourself!
BTW It does get easier, and in time you'll have moments of realising, as I have done, that you've not had a single smoking-related thought for weeks and weeks!
Keep up the good work!
I smoked my last cigarette 8 Months and 22 minutes ago. I have £2,014.87 that I haven't spent on 8,575 cigarettes and saved 4 Weeks, 1 Day, 18 hours and 35 minutes of my life.
