bad smell

Hey,

I am in the middle of the ironin and I noticed a horrible smell - couldn't put my finger on it, but then I realised that it was the stale smoke smell in my clothes - wow!!! horrible!!!

thats enough 2 keep me off the fags 4 life!!

Yes i notice that smell when i iron my eldest sons clothes. Although they are washed the smell still lingers.

Where I notice it is in my handbags. Like most women I have a (fairly) substantial number of handbags and although I've been smoke free for 11 months now, whenever I get out a handbag to match an outfit, they still stink of stale smoke:mad:

Perhaps it's time to invest in some new ones???

A quick tip to females of all ages...

Handbags and shoes...

*sit down, this may be a bit much for you...

They can be cleaned you know! (I know, what a shock!!!)

You don't have to keep buying new ones all the time

I had the stale smell thing on day three... it really distressed me... my whole house smelt like an ashtray... I realised that my kids were going to school smelling like that... people could smell it on me, and visitors could smell it as soon as they walked through the door... it was the first thing that made me REALLY want to stay quit... it was awful... I scrubbed and scubbed to get rid of the smell... I'm still finding the odd thing that smells of it now, a month on... it makes me want to be sick now.

For me it was the car, it took months before it stopped reeking if cigarettes. Even now there is a slight lingering smell when the heater is turned on!

I was kind of lucky in this respect, since my son was born I never smoked in the house or the car.... So none of my clean clothes or anything inside either of them smelled.

I would have hated it if they did.

i have noticed i am using less perfume-which is a good thing as chanel nos 5 is expensive!!!!

i have noticed that my colleagues at work 'mask' the smell with perfume but all you can smell is a mixture of fags and scent-URGhhhhh, not a good mix, also what really repels me is the smell of fags on peoples' breath-that is bad!:eek:

Luckily I stopped smoking in my car over a year ago and we never smoked in this house since we moved here 14years ago! The garage floor is till covered in butts though, I keep noticing the odd one and for a split second think 'there's a couple of draws left in that:eek:' I'll maybe brush up tomorrow night

ive got loads of fag butts, by the big green bins outside, that missed my big water ashtray, when i flicked them.

Sometimes, i look and think blimey i only smoked half that one.

time for a clear up methinks lol.

When i go to my AA meetings, they have a fag break halfway through, and now when everyone comes back in, the whole room stinks, and you can smell it on peoples breath, it smells foul!
