Please does anyone else have no sense of smell or taste or is it just me? I have read a lot about people saying they have an increased sense of smell and taste, but cant find anything about it being the other way around.
Thank you.

Hey Independent, definitely for me it was increased sense of smell and taste, everything smells and tastes much better now and was one of the very first improvements I noticed.
Everyone is different in their experiences during their quit and your throat and nose airways may be still clearing and healing, perhaps try to vaporize with vicks or eucalyptus oil might improve it for you.
Hi, thank you for the suggestion, I will try that as I have some in the bathroom cupboard. Everything tastes like cardboard so living on jacobs cream crackers mostly!!!! xx and tea, of course.
I'm with you there Gally - smell and taste exactly as they were when I smoked. Strange how it affects different people in different ways. Maybe I just eat really bland food!!
Haha! Don't think so. I think it just affects us in different ways. I haven't noticed any change at all in my sense of taste. Everything seems to taste just as it did when I smoked. It's probably a blessing considering my cooking skills!
I didnt really notice any big improvements...but now for example, i have a throat infection at the moment, i have no doubt if i was still a smoker, i would be in bed dying with throat and chest infection...whereas now, just a little throat infection.
every year i get at least 3 serious chest or throat or even lungs infection...and I am a very healty person.
I struggled with cough and been diagnosed with asthma years ago...I havent used the inahalor since i quit....
focus on those improvements, even if you dont see them...one day it will make sense. You made the right decision
Yes!! You're right, it is day 27 I just checked. Its not that I will, or even want to smoke, but the panic attacks and stress are overwhelming to the point I walk for hours just to try and keep them in check. I didnt come here for a couple of days as was just too depressing to even think about depressing other people, would not have been fair of me. x
Ah yes, the memory of post Day 21, not a pleasant stage of our quits unfortunately, but it does pass and get easier, once you get past the 1 month milestone (3 days away!), things improve and time passes by much quicker. Post as often as you need Independent about anything you wish, we are all on the same ship here and it does help to share and just get it out....by the way, good idea aswell to walk, greatest free medicine going I think!
Same as me - 27 days! Don't worry about posting depressing stuff, always someone here to try to lift your spirits. Well done on getting through the bad times 🙂
