I've just joined this website and I was just wondering if anybody can tell me why after all these months of non-smoking that my lungs feel worse. I feel great in myself but I've noticed that my chest feels very tight like I cant get enough air into the lungs. Any ideas ?????

No answers from me I'm afraid...but I do often suffer from the feeling that there is something not quite right ......
I THINK (or hope) that it's a form of hypochondria brought about by the shifting focus from smoker to non smoker - if that makes sense... I mean we focus more on ourselves because we no longer have the routine/habit of switching our brains off while having a fag.
As always though - go and see a doctor rather than listen to us lot!!!
I've not smoked now for about 8 months. I also agree with you that it feels worse when I exercise (which I do quite a lot). Hey cword, I liked your reply it made me laugh. I don't want to see the doctor anymore I think she thinks I'm a hypocon......... (cant remember how to spell either - it must be because of the stop smoking wotsit) hehe....
8 months thats fab a friend of mine has stopped for 8 months on the 4 july She dont use any forum tho. (work mate) Welcome to the site look forward to getting to know you. Linda xxx
