I'm going to put myself to the test this evening and go for the happy hour at our local. I think I'll do OK cos there aren't many smokers at our pub these days.
May also get out into the garden for a while and clear up some winter debris.
Im still here too and still pulling along fine. I woke up having a nasty craving this morning because i forgot to put my patch on last night but stuck it straight on when i realised and im all good now
You guys are cruisin'! Well done all of you, keep it going we're all behind you.. except for those who are in front of you and of course those who are alongside you but ...
Hadn't thought of it like that... 'Week 2' sounds far better than 'Day 8'!
When i used to buy cigarettes in the newsagents I always bought a magazine as well. I used to try to make it look like I'd gone in for a magazine, and the cigarettes were an afterthought.I figured if I just asked for cigarettes i'd look like i was a sad smoker surviving on nicotine alone (which i practically was!!). I felt more sophisticated somehow if i got a magazine too... how very very sad!!
Well this afternoon i marched straight in, got my lottery ticket (the winning ticket obviously) and came out without any B&H and without spending needlessly on trashy mags... well chuffed!
Nice one Bloolou, and thanks to the kind words of support elsewhere on this thread, it makes it sooooo much easier knowing you have people out there rooting for you!
Just for the record, I got a massive craving this afternoon - proper aching in the chest if you know what I mean, but pushed through and you know what, 10 minutes later it had all gone and I was feeling fine - just proves that the damn nicotine and habit monsters don't have as much will power as us - we will defeat them!
Now, I’m off out to pick up the Friday night curry and pop into the pub for a beer - normally one of my great smoking excuses and weak spots when giving up previously - but tonight I'm going to pass. Anyone else going out or having a drink, hope you do OK, see you all on Saturday AM when we will be one day off it being a week and we give ourselves a massive virtual pat on the back -
Just while I think about it, has anybody got any plans for the money they have saved - target savings and big treats?!!!!
Cheers all, have a great smoke free Friday wherever you are
Hope you enjoy your evening, you certainly deserve to!
I think i'll buy myself a nice new handbag when i get to the end of week 2. Longer term I'm after a new lense for my camera, a big lense, yeah, a whopping big one. One that makes me look like I do photography for a living. One that's longer than my arm... i think i'm getting carried away here!!
I've noticed that some peeps on here have a counter that shows how long they've been quit and the money they've saved. I want that too. I could try to figure it out with a diary and a calculator and still have to build in an error margin!!
C'mon, fess up, how do you get the automatic counter??
I have been quit for 5 Days, 17 minutes and 28 seconds (5 days). I have saved £27.91 by not smoking 100 cigarettes. I have saved 8 hours and 20 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 04/02/2008 00:00
I will let you in on the secret... IF you find out how we get to have a 'SENIOR' member tag on here, rather than the downmarket 'MEMBER' tag we appear to have?
