Hi All! Made it to day 3

Hi everyone

I've just found this site this afternoon and it seems very friendly and supportive.

I've tried to stop several times in the past with gum and patches but the longest i managed was 2 months.

Decided to try Champix after hearing good things and so far so good - I am half way through day 3. I'm have some urges but they pass quite quickly and I think they are more to do with habit than actual cravings though.

So far so good, i'm feeling really positive that i will never smoke again and its a wonderful feeling. I know i have some difficult days to come but just concentrating on getting through one day at a time first.

I am worried what will happen when i finish the Champix but i guess that's a worry i won't have to deal with for 11 weeks!

Hi and welcome, I have only recently joined and everyone is supportive. Its nice to have a place to tell everyone your struggling and receive some support or just chat.

Don't worry about coming off the Champix like you said its ages away lets cross that bridge when you come to it.

Keep up the good work and before you know it it will be 3 weeks and not 3 days

:)

mysmiles.ru/Welcome.gif JemimaP! Well done for getting to day 3! That's brilliant.. keep it going and you'll be celebrating a whole week in ... erm.. a few days... :D

I found Champix really good.. as Daz says, I wouldn't worry about coming off it just yet; most people don't have a problem anyway. I did but that was my fault for just stopping! :D

welcome jemimaP

i stopped smoking with champix:) found it really easy, and unlike some people i did'nt take the full course(did'nt feel that i needed them anymore had 6 weeks supply left!!) it doesn't bother me in the least if someone's smoking next to me now cos i know i'll NEVER smoke again!!

hope you find it just as easy:) but you'll get loads of support from this site, we're all friendly (i think:confused:).

don't worry about comming off them just yet, take one day at a time, and you'll get there.good luck! it does get easier....honest.

H

I am worried what will happen when i finish the Champix

HEY JEMIMA,

CONGRATS ON YOUR QUIT, BESTEST DECISION EVER!!!! I AM ON CHAMPIX AND HAVE BEEN FOR ABOUT 9 1/2 WEEKS NOW, 2 MONTHS 2MORO THAT I STOPPED!!!! I WAS WORRIED AT FIRST ABOUT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN WHEN THE TIME CAME TO STOP TAKING THEM.. WELL IM NOW DOWN TO 1/2 A TAB A DAY WHICH I TAKE AT LUNCHTIME, DONT REALLY THINK I NEED TO TAKE IT ANYMORE BUT I THINK THE SUCCESS RATE IS HIGHER FOR THOSE OF US WHO COMPLETE THE COURSE.. WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY IS BY THE TIME YOU GET TO THE END OF THE COURSE YOU WILL BE FEELING SO GOOD ABOUT WHAT YOU HAVE DONE AND NOT REALLY THINKING ABOUT SMOKING ANYMORE THAT YOU WONT NEED THEM ANYWAY!!!!!!!! :D ;)

Well done Jemima, a fine achievement ...

Your urges will peak around day three, thats your first mile stone over the 72 hour way marker. Your next mile stone for urges comes in around day six or seven, but I wouldn't worry too much about that your doing fine :)

keep it up
