Hi everyone, well made it to day 8 and feel a lot more relaxed, presume it must be the champix. Had a positive non smoker moment at my friends house last night cos suddenly realised after an hour of being there that I was enjoying myself and hadn't thought of ciggies the whole time and felt really chilled as well, woo hoo, normally I'd have been a right fidget wondering when I could get my next fix (they're non smokers).
My worst day was 6 for some strange reason, thought day 3 was bad but nothing compared to 6. So it now feels like a switch has been flicked and its quite calming, great feeling a bit of control at last :D. And I've got through possibly my worst stressful week at work in living memory without one single puff, yeh.
My fella is taking me out on Sunday as a treat, he can't believe I've got this far, altho he doesn't really get it as he's a non smoker but he tries ... bless.
Hope everyone else is doing OK with their quits, keep going it definitely gets easier!

I got the Itch on day 6 too. I don't know if it'll work for everyone BUT heres my take on the champix. I was told that it "mimicked"nicotine (to reduce withdrawl symptoms ) so I have thought of it in the way like "ok I've had a cig - lets see what else there is to do" Its now simply habit Caz. Like you said it didn't occur to you to smoke whilst you were at your friends. Same here. So it proves that from now on the only thing to make you want a cig is your mind!! Life is a question of mind over matter - I don't mind cos cigs don't matter!¬
Glad to hear you are doing well! Keep up the good work! Week 2 was little more bumpy for me but I am cold turkey.

Thanks Kazza, suppose if you think of champix acting like a cig it makes more sense, I think I know its habit but its just getting my mind trained. Its actually day 10 for me today but the weekend has been a bit of a drag, think if I can get thru another couple of weekends will feel a lot more confident, they just seem to stretch on and on, lol, and the sad thing is that I just yearn for sun night cos I'll soon be back at work where its a bit easier for me, sigh. Looking forward to the day when I've got my weekends back and they're not such a struggle!
Thanks for your support too overtheedge and you're doing really great especially cold turkey, I know that's really hard as I did cold turkey 30 years ago and managed to stay off them 5 years (only started again cos I got divorced and decided that I was going to do what I wanted to do - he made me quit in the first place ... how stupid was that ), anyway keep strong!
