Ok, so I woke up this morning and said "I am a non-smoker"...I made it thru the first day. Now all I have to do is stay a non-smoker. Last night, we had a birthday party / weiner roast where I all of a sudden noticed just how many of our friends smoke...I was totally outnumbered, and boy did I notice everyone lighting up. I am 38 years old and just now noticing these things....lol. I did NOT smoke though, nor did I have a beer because I knew I would cave with the smoking if I drank anything with alcohol. My husband smokes too, which is making it tough at home. And he is not being much help, I was kidding, kinda, and said wish I had a cigarette so he handed me one, which made me mad so I squashed it....lol.
Anyway, so far this morning does not seem as bad. Its still not great, don't get me wrong, but not as bad. Maybe the chantix is kicking in more, maybe my outlook is better, who knows. I still play it out in my mind though, as to why I am really doing this since I truly liked smoking.
Anyone know where I can read about how your body changes as you quit. I remember reading somewhere, how many days before the nicotine leaves, how long it takes to get healthier. Just looking for good reasons to stay smoke free. Right now, if it wasn't for health, I would still be smoking. And now my mind is going there is so many things out there bad for you why worry about this one thing. I am NOT giving up, please know that, but I want to wipe these crazy thoughts from my mind.
Oh, and ps.....I see some other day 2 people, CONGRATS..... and it was good to hear from you. Hope we can all chat more.

And you got through that big hurdle last night too
Fantastic!!!!!
Shame the boyfriend couldn't be a bit more supportive, mine still smokes too which does make it hard, he is supportive though and smokes very little just in the evenings and does it when i am too busy to notice!! lol
Hi Buffy. Thank you so so much. That is exactly what I needed to read about. Day two is definately looking better then day one. I am noticing the urges come and go and its not as constant as yesterday.
Wow, this evening has been toughhhhhhhhhhhh and doesn't seem to be letting up. I am not depressed or mad like yesterday, but am having terrible urges to smoke. Fighting it off but it seems as soon as it is gone another one comes. Day 2 started out not so bad but is ending up pretty crappy.
CONGRATS on DAY 2!!! You are doing great. The first three days are very very hard, but after that - things seem a bit easier. Hang in there and keep your head filled with positive thoughts. You can do it!! We are all here with you and if you need to vent you know where to come
Geesh, hubby could be a little more supportive. My hubby is still smoking but he is pretty good about my feelings towards it and he tries to keep it away from me. He was the one that kept me quit in my weakest moments along with the folks on here!! Thanks all cause I would be smoking if it weren't for you all! Hubby tossed a whole brand new pack of HIS ciggies  into our pool when I went to have one....he grabbed them off of me before I could get one to my mouth and - woooosh - in the pool they went! I was soooooo upset, well for a moment and then I had a shower instead and when I was finished showering i came downstairs to thank him for doing that. That was during my first few days of being a non-smoker. It really helps when people have your back on this matter! If you can't get it at home - we will give it to you! TOUCH THE CIGGIES AND WE COME THERE AND KICK YOUR A&& lol!!! How bout that?!! Nah really - you CAN do it!!
Sorry to hear you are having bad cravings at the moment.
The first few days are very hard but if you can just hang in there it will be worthwhile.
I must admit I just wanted to sleep all the time because I felt awful for the first 3 days and if I was in bed it was easier because I didn't associate the bedroom with smoking.
Try listening to some relaxing music and taking deep breaths
Have you looked at the tips thread maybe there is something on there that would help you honey?
Stay strong and keep telling yourself it will be worth it in the end.
Love Befly xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Every day counts! I'm working on completing day 13 here! I've hit a few rough patches, but have made it through thanks to support here and the video on you tube! It has helped me alot!! Every time i have wanted to smoke I watch it. If you haven't seen it check it out. It is posted by Boudee
