Well, Day 6 for me and, strangely enough from reading everybody else's posts, probably the worst day for me so far.
Had to go back to the Dr. today so asked for Champix instead of the patches (which were causing an allergic reaction). Dr. wasn't keen to give - because they're new/don't know side effects/another tablet etc.etc., so has given me a script for 105 x microtabs. Considering she said in the beginning I could use them EVERY HOUR and wean slowly down - how long is 105 tablets going to last??!!
Has anyone else tried these?
I liked the patches - apart from the reaction - because it seemed to keep the cravings at bay.
Anyhow - well done to everyone. AREN'T WE DOING WELL??

That's a terrible shame, I had an awful reaction to patches when i used them too, the pharmacist (NHS pharmacy councilling thingy i used) prescribed a different patch and i was much better after that, still red and swollen but tolerable, I don't know about microtabs, I saw a thread earlier with somebody using microtabs galacticcactus.com/forum/ht... i can't bloody find it now sorry grrrrrrrrrrr
..........EDIT........... I found it! on this forum too lol nosmokingday.org.uk/forum/s... This is Ray, he's using microtabs too. Hope this helps.
Main thing is your at 1 week tomorrow YAY!! WELL DONE!!! and you can see yourself as a non smoker and you do have something to help you along. I do hope somebody can pop along and give you more advice though as i am pretty useless to you lol

Hi Maggie
WELL DONE FOR GETTING TO DAY 6 how's day 7 going? You must be really proud that you have gone a whole week without smoking. It a real shame your GP wouldn't give you Champix. I've been on it now for 19 days and apart from 1 slip-up at the week-end I have not smoked for 10 days. I have never gone this long without smoking before. How are you finding the micro tabs? Hope they are helping. I recently found Resue Remedy Pastilles which I am using when I need a bit of a boost and not forgetting this great forum which is excellent for lifting your spirits and getting you back on the right track. GOOD LUCK!!!
I didn't put a patch on this am so picked up the Microtabs from the chemist. Have to say they're not too pleasant to take. The booklet in the packet recommends putting them under your tongue until they dissolve but the chemist has written on the packet to say put at the top of the gums and let them dissolve! Either way, they're not a pleasant taste and leave a burning in the mouth. Still better than a cigarette (correction - still better then smoking!!) so will see how I go. Was 2.00 pm before I decided to try one out - had no patch on anyway - so maybe that's a good sign. Wasn't climbing the walls for a smoke anyway, but thought I'd try one.
Also went to the Dentist yesterday and paid for a scale and polish so don't want to go back to old habits now, do I??
