The Queen is ready!

Hi everyone. It has been a while but I'm still here just haven't had time to get on and make a post. My latest thing is a few weeks ago I found out my parathyroid is acting up so the doctor put me on cincalet to see if it will help me. He did mention that surgery may have to happen if it doesn't adjust. I'm worried some but honestly what can I do? I'm not on dialysis as of now so I continue to work and work on my degree hoping for the best. I had someone who wanted to be a living donor for me, but she ran into a problem and can't be a donor. She's been an awesome cheerleader in all of this and I can't thank her enough. She wants to continue to help me and I'm appreciative of her support. I did feel a little more sad than I expected that she couldn't be a donor but what can you do? I am hoping there is a living donor out there for me. Ya just never know. I just have to be ready!

Parathyroid issues can be treated. A few years ago, my Parathyroid level was high and my nephologist treated it with daily vitamin D and calcitriol which was titrated until the Parathyroid level was normal. There are a few levels of Parathyroid problems and it involves the level of your blood calcium. Good luck in getting this treated.

Good to hear from you. I too have an issue with Pth, but so far, no surgery. We are still doing the medications to see if that will help. It is not terrible, just elevated.

I appreciate your update; I've wondered how you were doing. I admire your interest in moving forward - with your degree, getting a transplant, etc. You're a warrior!

Thanks Darlenia. Just trying to keep on moving forward. Things may get hard but life is precious and I just want to try and life as fully as I can for as long as I can.
