Your not alone feeling this way, but you have signed up to a great place for excellent advice and support.

Many on the forum have been where you are and are moving towards the healthy BMI with very little exercise but determination and self control to get to the goals they've set, allowing themselves the time needed to get there... Have a look around and I am sure you will be motivated for a better future for you x

Cheering you on to the success you work for 🎉🎉

Hi and welcome, Sugalipz :)

Please don't despair, because it's perfectly possible to lose weight, without doing exercise, as diet is thought to be responsible for 80% of weight loss. We have many members who are physically challenged, but are still losing weight. Hopefully, as you start to lose weight, you may be able to do some chair exercises, or it may be less painful to walk.

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), or in the drop down on the 'Posts' page (it says 'arrange by'). Read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.

Take a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the NHS BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.

To the right of the HOME page (bottom on a mobile), you'll find Events. In there, you'll find links to our daily Weigh-in's (you will choose just one day per week), our Daily Diary, where we post our menu and exercise plans, for accountability, advice and support and our “What's happening today” thread, where we pop in for a chat.

Be aware, that the HU app doesn't give you access to all of our important features, so we advise that you use the full website page.

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.

It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey :)

Hi there, don't worry about the exercise side of things for now. Just start things one step at a time and you will surprise yourself and everyone around you. Have a look around the forum, but also look at the NHS bmi calculator and make sure you are aware of how many calories you should be able to eat between to lose weight. This gives you a higher amount than you would realise and best to go for the top as the lower amount gives you no room to move around with in case you come to problems later on. I used to eat even lower than these amounts thinking it will help me further and faster to lose weight but could never do it. I just always got fattier. Don't do this, because I found out on here that my body thought I was just starving it and this meant my body turned what I did eat into body fat to ensure it could continue as well and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so it stops you losing weight and sometimes puts weight on instead. Please don't also make this mistake. I have now lost 2st and lost a lot of the fat. Good luck with your journey.
