Been on an off diets for 40 years im gong to cut out carbs. It suppose to work. Anyone agree. By the way im pauline and live in bristol so hi all.

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side of the screen or if your on a mobile at the bottom. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start along with a photo so you can see the changes when the scales don't move.

We have weigh-ins every day so why not come and join us. You can find the weigh-in on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post and state your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the best out of the forum be active, share experiences, tips and recipes. Read some of the posts they can be very inspiring and motivate you along the way.

Cutting out all carbs can be difficult and doesn't suit everyone. If you are going to make a big change in what you eat it might be a good idea to do it gradually. You could try cutting out the 'white' carbs and sugar and see if that makes any difference. Perhaps keep some of the healthier brown or high fibre carbs in your diet, but just don't have too much.

Hi. I cut out the white stuff, bread , potatoes, rice and pasta. It does work. Substituted spiralised corgette for pasta and cauliflower rice instead of white rice. Another guide line I followed was that all veg are ok but those that grow above ground are great. All good fortune. You can do it!

Gl to you penel. Gonna eat plenty veg. Am gonna be carful with root veg my first week starts today. So will weigh again next sunday.need to lose 4 stone as im 14st 9 lb at the moment. Let you know if i lose next week ok

Lots of us agree no carbs. I dont count carbs in veg except potatos. So lots of veg can eat.

I,m Vallen I am recoverying from foot surgery. At first I loss weight as I couldn't walk in to the kicken my husband cooked all my meals which was low in fat and lots of fruit and veg, plus salads weighed carbs. Now that I am able to get into the kitcken I started to have to odd biscuit or extra helping of ice-cream. Guess what I gained all the weight back that I had lost. Now i am doing the ,One You healthy meals and the weight is coming off . I would not cut out carbs but look at portions of what you need each day and weigh everything you eat. Good luck !

Hi vallen i had eggs bacon and had half slice bread for brekky. Feel full now so will just have a little carbs. No roast potatoes today though. Am 14st 9lbs. So nmeed to lose around 4 stone.

Don't cut carbs too low it'll leave you moody hair loss bad breath exhusted

You just need to find the right calories to lose weight

Don't cut back carbs been there lowered my immune system I got sick

Hi can you tell me how many cals i should eat in a day. I get so hungry in the evening. I find it hard. During the day im fine sticking to diet.

Ty. I will just count the carbs that i have. Few boiled potatos and 1 or 2 slices of small brown bread. Allow myself that each day.
