Just starting out

So im currently 16 and a half stone and have been that way for several years since having children and having bad eating habits. Im good in the daytime my problem is evening snacking especially when im at work. I know i can take healthy alternatives to work but i lack willpower to stick to it. Im hoping trying this 12 week programme and following a bit at a time that it will help me on my way to a 4 to 5 stone loss

Hi Buddygemgem

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbies post in the Pinned post section on the right or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start along with a photo so you can see the changes and it is motivating on the days when the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh-ins so why not come and join us. You will find the weigh-ins in the Events section on the Home page on the right. Just click on the post and state your starting weight, any loss/gain or maintain.

To get the best from the forum be active, share experience, tips and ideas. read some of the posts they are very inspiring.

Have a good first week.

Rose

You've summed it up by saying that you'll be following the 12 week program a bit at a time. That's a good strategy.

Good luck on your journey.

I fully understand the apprehension and excitement. If it helps, my situation was no different when I started. I'm in my 50's and had been trying to kick off a diet for so many years, I can't even remember. All fairly instant failures.

I have spent most of these 7 weeks waiting for something to go wrong. My dealings with this are bordering on ocd but I'm happy with that until this becomes embedded into my way of life. As I keep saying, this is not a diet but a lifestyle change.

Your in good company and support is great. I to blame children. Does it still count when they are 35 and 33? Lol.

Haha it counts regardless of their age :)

Thank you, thankyou.... now I have a good reason... my children are 41 and 39 and if I look at the photos of me before I had them.... wow they have a lot to be blamed for:)

Hi

Its so easy to get into bad habits esp when youve got kids running around and no energy, ive got 4 little uns and i know exactly how u feel. but hey- youve made a start! ive bought a dress that is 2 sizes down from what i am, i aim to fit into that dress, i try it on everyday and leave it where i can see it, it really helps to motivate me! good luckx
