add my fitness pal and work out how much your need to lose

go a week of logging normal before making a change in your diet

its sometimes about cutting down rather than cutting out or swapping for a healthier version rather than not having something at all

i.e. home made meals are normally controlled with what we use - a homemade burger may have 400 calories but on at a restaurant or mc Donald's will be much more and not fill u! a small burger from 5 guys is like 550kl whereas a homemade on might be 350kl - that's 200kl you have saved plus saving money

Thank u very much😊i ll try😊but it s difficult to e.g.exercise alone(moved out n don t know anyone in my town) that s what put me off. I start lets say to jog n after a week or 2 i stop😐no motivation, always hungry n crave for sweets😞

I can't jog due to injury, but I do yoga at home which I like, there's some DVDs which are quite intense and not boring and very sweaty

Maybe try walking or jogging whilst on the phone to someone?

Also have u checked if there's anyone from the community nearby u?

The food has to b sorted before u exercise otherwise u over compensate and treat ur self etc

It's hard as its a mindset change and lifestyle change.

Maybe set yourself a goal and a little treat for reaching that goal? Work out if u were to lose 1 or 2lbs what weight u would b and how awesome u would feel in X weeks like by Xmas

And feel free to message me!

I started recording everything on 'myfitnesspal' and started checking how many cals were in things and measuring out a portion rather than just guessing

all my crisps, choc etc are in my husbands games room so I cant get anything without him knowing otherwise I just don't buy snacks - it sounds silly and embaressing but I will be the person who stops in a aisle and looks at all the food options and dismisses items due to cal total and talks to them selves - forward planning helps for the week too

Sweets r problem too,COs i get them for my boys, but fcourse must try sumat😞can t resist. I was stronger before i born my son,it s weird. When i said myself i won t touch it i wouldn t. Now it s a lot more difficult.

I buy dark choc for my hubby as I don't like it - maybe find something they like and you don't?

since its getting into winter you couls do flavoured teas etc to give the sweetness but less calories?

i.e. today I wanted a hot choc for warmth and choc - I got a 40cal sachet and only filled half the cup of water and mixed so it was very strong and I didn't need milk

in reply tokravaga

Hi kravaga - have you tried doing the Couch to 5k program for the jogging ? Having a set challenge and program might help with the motivation ? There are podcasts and apps that you can play whilst you run to tell you what you should be doing each week :-)

kravaga profile image
kravaga in reply to

Hi😊didn t try,COs i can jog 30min constantly. After a weeks of regular exercise even 55min. But the problem with me s no motivtion😞i ll start, run for eg 2 week n after look for excuses😞

in reply tokravaga

Perhaps try some of the post-5k programs then to get you into a routine ? There might be a local running group that you can join and that might get you meeting people ? Are there any runs coming up locally that you could enter to give you some motivation perhaps ? :-)

I ll definetly try it,COs meybe it ll help me😊i checked some groups n no luck😞i thought bout it,n im sure i would motivate me.

in reply tokravaga

How about booking a place on a race, something to work towards, or look at virtual running buddies like on sparkpeople. Also I noticed there's a new community on here called bridge to 10k, that might be a good next step. Good luck :)

How r u gonna maintain yr weight?

in reply tokravaga

By bothering everyone on here as much as I can, keeping up the exercise, and watching my weaknesses such as wine, evening snacking, etc. I've also finally been honest with my boyfriend about how much weight I'd put on. This was a big thing and I definitely want to make sure I don't go back there again.

kravaga profile image
kravaga in reply to

That s great im very happy for u😊 it s difficult to maintain the figure but it s durable if u want😊 bf could see u gainin, hope it didn t change yr relationship for worse😊i wish u good luck. U must be strong for yrself n me aaahhha😃

in reply tokravaga

My bf liked me how I was! I'm very lucky. But he can see I feel better now. It's about doing it for yourself. Good luck :)

How much weight do you want to lose? :-) if you say for example 2 stone, break it down into 7lb blocks. Don't think "oh I want to be 10 stone", aim for gradual goals but above all you need willpower and drive. Treat yourself to some new clothes when you have got to your target? Work out your calories for the day, do some walking and it should come off gradually. Weight loss can take a lot of time which is where a lot of people give up because they don't lose 5lb a week. Half to 1-2lb a week, usually any more can end up with it all going back on and then some. Pick an activity you enjoy, exercise shouldn't be a chore, good luck x

You have to start somewhere! Decide the little things you can change, take the rest of the comments advice, walk more, eat smaller portions.

Find out your calorie allowance and work out a plan from there

kravaga profile image
kravaga in reply toNsky24

Hi😊what do u think how should look a normal portion? I ve got a Hugh problem with overeatin😞eat until my stomach s like a ballon, wait a min n eat more😞can t stop. Feel very sad after COs again ate too much😞some advice?😊how did u loose yr weight?

Nsky24 profile image
Nsky24

Difficult to explain! A 100g portion of protein enough, palm sized pack out with veg, a cup ( 1/2 UScup) is a portion, find some recipes calorie controlled and cook, remember that dividing most by two , will give you two portions, eat half.

Your body takes 20 mins to realise you are full, a drink of water will fill you up before eating will help.

Check your calorie needs, most need 1500 to lose weight, you may need more, find a calculator, which will give your energy needs, based on your activity and weight

kravaga profile image
kravaga in reply toNsky24

My body needs 40min to realize that my stomach s full😐straight away after food i need more, feel hungry. That s mad... I ve checked that calculator i must be on 1400kcal.

Something to ponder:

Losing weight is HARD

Maintaining weight is HARD

Being overweight is HARD

Choose your HARD!
