Hello I'm new to this. I'm really dedicated to loosing weight this time I just don't know how. I have a masquerade ball in November and I'm dedicated to fitting in a slim dress. I've always been over weight since half way through high school. Not sure why because I did all sports. Haven't had the support really or the right frame of mind for it. Any tips would be helpful thanks you

Hello CarysOwens , are you following the NHS 12 week plan? That has all the information on how much you should be eating and the amount of exercise you should be doing.

It seems you have the right mind frame by joining the forum and making your first post and you will receive loads of support on here whenever you need it.

My best tip is to not give up, you can do everything right for 1 month but it won't matter if there is going to be an end to it - you have to do this for life! Don't restrict yourself and listen to your body, you need to find the things which work for you to keep you on track :)

You'll read a lot about evil processed foods and don't eat this or that but it's all about balance and it's not normal for us to completely cut out one entire food group! Everything in moderation :) Good luck!

I would also really recommend the 12 week plan, download MyFitnessPal to count your calories - it's got a really nifty bar code scanner which keeps it really quick and simple! 🌻

Hi CarysOwens

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbies post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or if your on a mobile at the bottom. Have a look at the nhs 12 plan, many members including myself have had success with this plan. Use the BMI checker to make sure you are have the correct daily allowance.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects which might help you.

Take your measurements and a photo at the start of your journey as this can be motivating when the scales don't move.

We have weigh-ins every day. Come and join us today, you can find them posted on the Home page in the Events section. Just click on the post and state your starting weight and what you are aiming to lose this week.

To get the best out of the forum be active, share experiences and ideas. Read some of the posts in the Topic section, they are good for inspiration and can keep us motivated.

Good luck with your first week.

Rose
