Last Monday I weighed 13 stone 2.2 pounds, and today I weigh 13 stone 4.0 pounds, so I've gained 1.8 pounds this week. I thought I'd had a good week, as I exercised quite a bit, and I chose healthy foods, but maybe my portion sizes were slightly too large, so I'll have to take a look at that.
I'm going to be away for the next couple of weeks, in sunny Spain, so I predict a further weight-gain, but I'm hoping to try to stay below 13 stone 7 pounds, so hopefully no more than 3 pounds gained in that time. I'll be back to do the weigh-in on 13th July, and will look forward to catching up with you all then.
In the meantime however, Prin (a really lovely member of our forum) has agreed to lead the next 2 week's Monday weigh-ins (29th June and 6th July). Look out for her name - she will use the same title for the weigh-in thread i.e. 'Please Join Me for a Monday Weigh-in (date in brackets)'. (Thank you so much Prin for agreeing to do this, I really appreciate your help.)
I will be around today, so please join me and let me know how your week has gone.

You were the first of several people yesterday who suggested that I re-weigh myself today (Tuesday morning), and I am pleased to report that i weigh 13 stone 2.4 pounds today, so since last Monday I have actually only gained 0.2 pound….!!! I feel much happier this morning than I did yesterday as a result of taking the advice to re-weigh - so thank you to you, and to all the others who suggested that.
I feel even happier to start my holiday knowing I've not gained too much at the start of it.
Thanks for the suggestion (and to any other people who suggested that).
That's great! It's strange how our weight can change so significantly from day to day, isn't it? I'm glad that you are starting your holiday knowing that you have actually lost a little instead of gaining a little Have a great time.
Don't be disheartened. Sometimes our bodies seem out to get us. You are on a journey and this is a very supportive place in which to share it. It may indeed be worth a thought to pop on the scales again before you head for the sun as Sinead suggested...
I don't get the rhyme or reason to why I am not a garden rake after 78 days of being a vigilante to the cause, but I am not!
That said I seem to have lost 2lb and an inch from the waist this week which is good; but after over 300minutes hard exercise last week and staying under 1400 cals I was secretly hoping for more...
You are about to go on a thoroughly gorgeous holiday; enjoy every minute!
Thanks for your supportive words. I am going to weigh tomorrow morning just to see what's going on.
Congratulations to you for losing 2 pounds this week plus an inch off your waist. That is really good! Sounds like you've been very disciplined last week - well done for sticking to your goals - hopefully you'll have another great weight loss at next week's weigh-in.
I'll look forward to catching up with you when I get back, and in the meantime I hope you'll join Prin for the next 2 Monday weigh-ins. I'll be back for the one after (13th July) - hopefully relaxed and happy after a lovely holiday. I am excited!
Don't be too hard on yourself, some weeks are just like that for some odd reason!
I was having a good week until yesterday. Father's Day. I took my Dad out for lunch and it was the age old scenario, "I'm not having starter unless you have one. "I'm not having dessert unless you do" so ended up eating three courses from a very non-diet friendly menu! Therefore I have only lost half a pound so thank goodness I went to the gym three times last week! So this week I weigh in at 13st 7lbs exactly, still chasing that elusive 2.5lbs to reach that 5 stone lost goal. This week Lowcal, this week!
What does feel good though is that I found my measurements that I last took in September and measured again yesterday and delighted to have lost 7 inches off my bust, my waist & also my hips which is probably why I had to buy new jeans again on Saturday!
My goal for the week is to keep on with the three gym sessions, stick with the rabbit food through the week and so lose that 2.5lbs.
Have a super holiday Lowcal and even IF you gain at least you will have been relaxed enough to come back and get into the swing of things to get below that elusive 13 stone into the 12's. How good that sounds eh!
Congratulations to you for losing half a pound this week, despite having those extra courses during the Father's Day meal. I'm sure you'll soon be able to report that 5 stone total weight loss really soon - hopefully next week. You'll be so much lighter by the time I get back. You're losing so many inches - wow, 7 inches lost is amazing - enjoy wearing your new jeans.
I have mixed feelings about the holiday, because I'm really looking forward to it (of course) but I am wary of the potential for gaining weight - part of me wants to say I'll try to 'maintain my weight' rather than 'gain any' - but realistically I know I usually gain something - and I think that's fairly normal for holiday indulgences. But I also hope to keep as active as I can, and choose some healthy foods wherever possible.
What will be will be. At least I know I've got this supportive forum to come back to, and if I have gained - then being in this supportive community will soon inspire me to lose it quickly again!
Wishing you another great week ahead. I hope you're going to treat yourself with a non-food reward when you get to your 5 stone total weight loss. That is definitely something amazing to celebrate.
You need to enjoy your holiday and enjoy your food, and worry less. Jus choose the food you enjoy and eat a little less of it. And you can include exercise with swimming and long walks. Fret less and enjoy more
Morning all. Sorry about your gain Lowcal, this weight loss is hard going! I stayed the same. I know I need to give self a talking to as not sticking to calories over the weekend! Have managed more exercise again.
Have a fantastic, relaxing holiday! I am starting 40th celebrations this weekend with family meal and away a few days following weekend ( actual birthday ), so feel scales may be in wrong direction! Will weigh in next Monday to try and stay focused.
Thanks for your supportive words. Much appreciated.
Glad to hear you've managed more exercise again, as I remember you saying last week that you had had such a busy week that exercise was missing - so that's great that you've been able to do some this week.
Well done for maintaining your weight, as that's better than gaining!
Wishing you a great 40th Birthday, and enjoy your Celebrations and family get-togethers. I hope you have a really lovely time, and enjoy celebrating.
Great that you'll be weighing in next week - just look out for Prin's post, as she'll be posting for the next couple of weeks, in my absence (she's so great to do that!).
Wishing you a great week.
Look forward to catching up with you when I get back.
Hi Lowcal, I'm sure you'll shed that small gain really quickly and any little extras you pick up on holiday
I've really missed the thread these last few weeks but I've been doing exam invigilating at a local boys school and it has just about sucked the life out of me!! (plus had poor internet access there and was too shattered on an evening :/ )
I have been to Ascot for a long weekend and today weigh in at 17 st 2 lbs!!! Feel really sluggish, partly, I'm sure, because my dry June plan went pear shaped early on! I think "dry July" has a nice ring to it
I am going to pick up my exercise from today as that left the building (along with all of my energy and enthusiasm) when I started invigilating!
Hope you have a great holiday and massive thanks to Prin for keeping it going while you're away
I'm glad to see you, and hope you enjoyed your weekend in Ascot - I thought of you and Prin being there at some point over the weekend, and hoped you both had a great time.
Sounds like you've been really busy with all that invigilating, and I bet you're glad it's over now, and you can get back to focusing on yourself a bit more. Hopefully your energy and enthusiasm will pick up as you get into exercising again. You'll feel better in yourself as a result, and can shake off that sluggish feeling.
Sounds like 'dry June' was a bit of a challenge, but hopefully 'dry July' will go much better - afterall it rhymes!
Yes, it's great that Prin is taking on the weigh-in for the next couple of weeks - she is definitely someone with a very safe pair of hands - even though she did drop her phone in some water the last time, whilst travelling on a train - she did however handle that situation really well.
Wishing you a great week ahead, and will look forward to catching up with you when I get back in July.
Fabulous thanks, went on the northern belle Pullman train brunch on the way there and 4 course dinner on the way back saw the queen close up and drunk body weight in wine..........loved every minute of people watching as I am staring thread will post picture
That's a shame, Lowcal. It's disappointing when we feel as though we have done everything right but we still put on a little or stay the same. Perhaps the scales will show a loss within a couple of days - we know that there can be fluctuations from day to day...
Anyway, forget about the little gain and focus on your holiday - 2 weeks in Spain sounds lovely and there will be lots of lovely fresh, healthy food there. You probably won't want to eat big portions when it's hot either....
This is my end of week 12 weigh-in - I didn't weigh-in last week as I was on holiday. I have lost 3 lbs since my last weigh-in which means that I have lost 35 lbs over the 12 week period. I am delighted with this and plan to keep going as I still have another 4 stone to lose. Thanks to you and all the other people who have supported me so far; it really has made a huge difference.
I hope that you have a great holiday and come back rested and relaxed B-) and good luck to all the other Lowcal-ers with their weigh-ins this week.
Thanks so much for your very supportive words - I really appreciate them.
I hope you enjoyed your holiday last week, and I am very impressed that you've lost 3 pounds since your last weigh-in (prior to your holiday) - Congratulations - and also for losing 35 pounds in total at the end of your 12 week plan. That is such great progress, and you've done so well.
I hope you'll join Prin for the next 2 week Monday weigh-ins, as she's really supportive and a lovely person.
I will look forward to catching up with you when I get back from my holiday, and I hope that I can be as successful as you were after your holiday, in terms of losing some weight rather than gaining some. I feel inspired by your success and hope it rubs off on me.
You are doing so well - you've lost weight consistently week by week, and that's so great. Well done for your weight loss this week - going from 97.9 to 97.3, and it's great that you've lost 10cm off your waist. That is brilliant.
Sounds like you've been enjoying your week off - and keeping very active with all that exercise. Really good.
Thanks for your supportive words, and I'll look forward to catching up with you when I get back from Spain. I hope you'll join in with Prin for the next 2 Monday weigh-ins, and I'll be back for the one on 13th July.
I'm just back from a glorious week in Cornwall, but holidays and hormones combined sees a 5lb gain this week 😢 BUT the sensible part of me tells me this is mostly water weight (hopefully!!!)
I am actually quite looking forward to getting back to the plan, here's hoping to see some good results this week!
On a positive note, this is perhaps the first time that I haven't recoiled in horror at the holiday photos 😊 I looked at myself and felt pleased .... That in itself is a major step forward 😉☀🏊
I'm so glad you have had a lovely time in Cornwall on your holiday last week. That's great! I am sure your 5 pound gain will mainly be water weight, and also influenced by your hormones. It will soon go away, and you'll have some excellent results this week!
It's so great that you enjoyed looking at your holiday photos - it shows how great you are looking now, as you are noticing a difference that you're pleased with. That's really good.
I'll look forward to catching up with you when I get back. Look out for Prin's weigh-in post for the next couple of weeks, and I'll be back for the weigh-in on 13th July.
Wishing you a great week.
Lowcal
Hi Lowcal
Shame about the regain. I am indignant on your behalf, even though you are taking a sensible, calm attitude to it. But sometimes those unexplained weight gains just evaporate in a few days. I hope that's the case for you.
Enjoy Spain! It'll be good to have sun and sea even if there are some extra food obstacles. Really looking forward to having you back
I appreciate your kind words about my weight gain this week - and I hope the weight will evaporate in a few days - that would be really good!
How did you get on this week? I hope you've had a good week and enjoyed it. I'll look at the forum incase you've already posted your progress this week.
I will look forward to catching up with you when I get back. Prin will be taking the Monday weigh-in for the next two weeks, if you want to join her - she is a lovely person and very supportive.
Water/fluid retention. Some times our bodies just hold on to it especially if not dtinkjng enough.
Muscle mass v fat. If your exercising this alters the dynamics if your body this will shiw in inch loss not weight loss.
Body holding onto its food syores. Especially if on vlc diet and intetmittent eating it wonders where food is commjng from so stores it.
Re you holiday no readon for a gain plenty of good quality healthy food to be had enjoy the walks, swimming and you will be fine. Its about healthy choices.
Thank you so much for your very helpful post - it's good to see the many reasons that we can sometimes gain weight, and it's helpful to think about them in that way.
I don't have a very low calorie diet though, as my average total daily calories this week were 2,576 and my average total net calories were 1,443. But I did eat some salty foods over the weekend, and maybe didn't drink as much as I should have done, so I am wondering about the possibility of a bit of dehydration as a potential cause, and water weight from the salt.
You're right, there's no reason to gain weight in Spain, the food should be very healthy (providing I make the right choices) and there are lots of opportunities for exercise - so I will do my best to have a healthy holiday.
Thanks so much for your post, and hope you are having a great week yourself.
Lowcal
Hi Lowcal,
I know how difficult it is when the scales do not reward us for our efforts, but never loose the big picture of where you have been and where you are going.
Have a fab holiday, celebrate all your hard work, enjoy the sunshine, do a bit or 'real swimming' ( not paddle in pool, lol) and try a white sangria if never had !
Good Morning Lowcal and fellow Monday Weigh-In stars!
It's always disappointing when, having followed all the rules the scales don't play the game! But the end result is what it's all about, the journey to get where we want to be may not always be easy; but arriving at the final destination is what it's all about and I have no doubt you will get there!
I've now completed all 12 weeks of the NHS plan and last week I lost another 3lbs, I'm delighted because that means I'm well and truly down into the 10's...my total loss for 12 weeks is 1stone 11lbs and 4" from my waist.
Have a lovely holiday in Spain Lowcal, relax, enjoy yourself and deal with any weight gain when you get home. I'm going to Waterford in Ireland for a long weekend this week & that's exactly what I'm going to do! Have a fab holiday.
Thanks for your kind and supportive words, which I really appreciate!
Congratulations to you for completing the 12 week plan, and for losing a total of 1 stone 11 pounds, plus 4" from your waist. That is really great progress!
Also, many Congratuations on losing 3 pounds this week, that's really great. You're well into the 10's now. So pleased for you.
Have a lovely long weekend in Waterford, and enjoy! Yes, I hope to enjoy my holiday, and I'm really looking forward to it.
Wishing you a great week ahead, and will look forward to catching up with you when I get back in July.
Prin will be here for the next 2 week's weigh-ins on Mondays.
I see you have just completed 12 weeks also and you've done very well indeed. I'm going to continue as I would like to lose another 1stone 3lbs to get to my ideal weight. Have a good week.
Hi Lowcal, I've also put on this week. Last week I was down to a marvellous 11st9 and this week I'm back up to 11st12. This past week I went over my calories 4 days out of 7, so only 3 days were at the 1400 or below. I've also been generally less active rotating between a very sedentary job and essay writing, although I did go running twice. My main problem this week has been too much time to think about food (essay writing really allows the mind to wander) and also a big event yesterday (my bf's parents' golden wedding anniversary). I've simply had too much food and a few glasses of wine that should have swapped for sparkling water. I really feel I lost focus and sort of 'gave up'.
I'm away for the next week in Glastonbury, which will be full of temptations. I like your idea of having a realistic upper limit for after your hol. But I really just don't want to see 12st on the scale at all , so I need to only risk gaining 1lb max. Next week I won't really be able to track calories, and it won't be possible to do any running etc, but I will certainly not be sedentary as it's at least 14 hours of solid walking around/standing every day. So, in the spirit of not wanting to feel like I've gone too far wrong, and as I couldn't weigh next week til Wed, I'm going to skip a weigh in. I'll also skip a week out of my nhs 12 week plan, meaning I'll start week 5 next mon instead of today. Hoping the break will help improve my resolve for the week after I'm back.
Hope you have a great break in Spain, and manage to find healthy options while enjoying yourself
It must have been quite tough having to do all that essay writing last week, as that is certainly a more sedentary activity - but I hope the resulting essay/s have benefited from your endeavours. I suspect a lot of your weight gain this week is down to the celebration of your boyfriend's parents' Golden Wedding Anniversary, and so hopefully it will come off again very soon.
I know you're going to Glastonbury, but you've got a great plan to deal with that, and I know that you have a positive incentive that you don't want to be back in the 12's, so I think you'll hopefully stay relatively on track. Talking of 'track' I know it's difficult to track calories on holiday - I won't be able to do it while I'm in Spain, but I'm hoping that it will be a good experiment to see how I cope without tracking.
You sound like you're going to be quite active in Glastonbury, and that will stand you in good stead. Wishing you a really good time, and hope you enjoy every moment.
Will look forward to comparing notes with you when I'm back in July - wishing you success in staying in the 11's.
Thanks, I'm also sort of seeing it as an experiment. I have got 6 'Eat Natural' bars ready, to carry 1 with me each day, along with an apple and a clementine, to stave off snacking as much as I can during the day. And hopefully my brain will naturally steer me towards healthy choices for meals, as I do generally prefer things with fresh veg and salad in them anyway. Looking forward to comparing notes, and if the worst comes to worst (landing back on square one over 12st again) I trust the kind people here will help to guide me back in the right direction! But hopefully our experiments will work out okay...
Morning Lowcal I have missed a few weeks been feeling poorly. During that time I have lost and gained as usual and today weighed 17st 7lbs same as this time last month!
Determined to get back on track. Will do some more Chair Aerobics and Let's Dance sitting down of course.
Hope you have a lovely time in Spain enjoy and relax see you back in a couple of weeks.
Really sorry to hear you've been poorly. It's good to see you again, and I hope you're feeling better now. At least you've maintained your weight, despite being poorly.
You're sounding positive and keen to get back on track, and I hope you enjoy the Chair Aerobics and Let's Dance - sounds a good combination.
Thanks so much for your good wishes regarding my holiday. I am really looking forward to relaxing and unwinding, but would like to also keep as active as I can with some walking and swimming.
I'll look forward to catching up with you when I get back in July. I hope you'll join in with Prin's Monday weigh-ins in the meantime, she'll be here for the next 2 Mondays. She's really supportive.
i am sure you will be back losing weight after your hols, have a wonderful time.
well after week one on the NHS plan i lost 2lbs which i am happy about as i didn't really pick a great week to start as had extra rehearsals for my choir's show so lots of sitting around munching whilst waiting to sing. i did try to make them healthy choices but the odd wee choccy bar crept in, although i think i managed to balance out calories burnt singing and extra walking to offset it so i;m not feeling too bad. this week is shaping up to be more of the same with the added pressure of end of term activities hopefully though the running around for that will help the weight loss.
well done to all those who lost this week and those who gained, chin up its a new week, can't change whats happened just need to move on and look to the future. i am sure you will all do great this week.
A very warm welcome to you, and thanks so much for joining us for today's Monday weigh-in. Congratulations for losing 2 pounds at the end of your first week on the NHS plan. That's a great start! It shows that you can eat the odd wee choccy bar as part of a balanced healthy diet - and there have been some recent studies on the healthy aspects of chocolate itself, so that's all good! I usually enjoy a piece of chocolate every day with my coffee after my evening meal - usually dark chocolate with hazelnuts in it. Delicious!
Sounds like you're having a busy time, so hope you cope ok with all the end of term activities, and that you have another great week ahead.
Please look out for Prin's name next week if you want to join in the Monday weigh-in with a group - she'll be here for the next 2 weeks, and then I'm back again for the weigh-in on 13th July.
I hope you'll be around and I hope to catch up with you when I get back.
Wishing you a great week ahead. Thanks for your very positive comments in your post - much appreciated!
Lowcal
Bad luck on the weight gain, it is always disappointing when that happens especially when it's been a relatively good week. I know with my portion control, it can be so difficult to judge especially if you are really hungry. Have a lovely time in Spain, try not to worry about your diet as you can always get back into it after. The main thing is to have a lovely time, says she who gained 8 pounds in 3 days from too much ice cream in Copenhagen! It soon came off though. I always try and keep up the walking/swimming when away. Anyway Bonnes Vacances!
I have kept meaning to join in again every week but I have been very busy. And was quite ill for about 2 weeks. But all is better now.
So I am starting again with a clean slate as I did put on some weight again while I was ill. I have lost 2lbs since I weighed last week, but I didn't manage to get on here to tell everyone!
So today I am starting at 12st 10lbs. At the moment its not looking very likely that I'll get down to 12st before my birthday 17th July. 3 weeks and 4 days away. I'm will try to get as low as possible to that elusive 12st though.
I have signed up to the gym also, which to me that is a big step. I'm rubbish around people and always feel like I'm being watched but I just put my headphones in and get on with it. Usually manage about an hour for as many days a week that I can fit in!
I'm feeling positive this week, especially as I have finally returned to you guys. All the support is so nice and I forget how much reading everyone's progress helps!
Don't worry about the weight gain Lowcal! Its only slight. We all know by now this tends to happen. You will get there! You are so close to the 13st mark!
I do hope you enjoy your holiday! Just try not to worry too much about your weight and just have a nice relaxing time!
It's really great to see you again, and really glad you joined us today to update us on how you've been. Sorry to hear you were ill for 2 weeks, but glad to hear you're feeling better now. Congratulations on losing 2 pounds this week, and also great to hear you've joined the gym - I hope you'll get more used to going there and feel more comfortable exercising publicly as time goes on. Most people seem to get on with their own routines, don't they, so hopefully noone is staring at you - and if they are, then they are probably thinking that there's a really nice woman exercising over there.
Hopefully you'll get ever closer to your goal of being 12 stone and under - and you'll be closer to that by the time your Birthday comes round in mid July. A lot can happen in just over 3 weeks.
Thanks so much for your supportive words, and I will definitely do my best to enjoy the holiday.
Will look forward to catching up with you when I get back, and in the meantime, remember that Prin has kindly agreed to take the next 2 week's Monday weigh-ins, so she'll be here if you are around and about to weigh-in.
Hi lowcal, shame about your gain, though maybe if you have been exercising more you've lost inches? I didn't weigh I'm last week so this is my week 13 weigh in, I've lost 1lb in 2weeks...not the best but it's something I suppose! And I did go out on Friday and drink rather a lot of champagne so maybe that had an effect!! My plan is to increase the exercise this week to try and kick-start myself again!
I hope you have a fantastic holiday in Spain next week! Enjoy the sunshine!
Congratulations to you for losing 1 pound in 2 weeks, that's really good, especially as you had your night out on Friday and all that Champagne.
Good luck with increasing your exercise this week, and many thanks for your kind words.
Look forward to catching up with you when I get back. Look out for Prin's name at the next 2 Monday weigh-ins, and I'll be back on 13th July for the weigh-in.
Hi lowcal, sorry to hear about your gain. Always more annoying to put on when you can't see a reason for it!
I have managed to lose 2lbs this week and so am back down to 10st11. It was a fairly good week for me, until yesterday when we had my sister and her family over and we all went for a late breakfast in an american diner. Not a low calorie option really! Still on it for the next couple of weeks to try and get back down to 10st7, though it may be complicated slightly by an afternoon tea with my in-laws next weekend.
Enjoy your holiday lowcal, and hopefully there are more salads on offer in spain than there were on my holiday in wales! Have fun and see you when you get back x
Great to see you, and Congratulations on losing 2 pounds this week, and getting back to 10 stone 11 pounds. Hope you enjoyed the visit from your sister and her family and that late breakfast in the American diner - I can imagine that was quite tough food wise to choose something. Hopefully it won't affect your weight too much, as you've had a good week overall.
Hope the afternoon tea with your in-laws goes ok next weekend.
Many thanks for your kind wishes, and I'll definitely look at the salad options in Spain - I'm sure there'll be some tasty options that aren't too calorific.
Prin will be here next week for the Monday weigh-in, and the following week too. I'll look forward to catching up with you when I get back in July - I'm back for the weigh-in on 13th July.
As suspected last weeks weight loss was water because today I am back up to 14 stone 10, so either a 2lb gain or I've just stayed the same. Losing weight is inpossible the only time I have ever seen the scales moved is when I had under 50g of carbs, but its so difficult to maintain that and as soon as I go back up to 100g I gain alot of weight.
Thinking to try slimming world to see if it will help
Sorry to hear you're back up to 14 stone 10 pounds, I know you're disappointed - I suspect you're right that you've stayed the same and maintained your weight, rather than had a 2 pound gain.
You mentioned that you're thinking of trying Slimming World, so if you do decide to do that, I hope it is helpful. I've certainly seen some of their recipes in the magazine and they do look really tasty and nutritious.
Whatever you decide to do, I hope you have a good week ahead. I hope you'll join in with Prin for the next couple of week's Monday weigh-ins (if you want to of course), and I hope to catch up with you when I'm back on 13th July. Good luck!
That's a shame about your weight gain Lowcal but as others have said, it may be worth weighing again tomorrow. But more importantly, enjoy your holiday! I'm going to Egypt at the end of August but I'm a bit worried about the food. I've got food poisoning from salads in hotels before but I don't want to stuff myself with chips and bread.
I started healthy eating on Thursday and since Friday (67.7 kg) I've lost 2 pounds (66.8 kg).
I'm quite chuffed with myself not only for the loss but I started a temporary office job today and all afternoon I sat only 5 steps from chocolate and cake... and I resisted! There's a summer party this Thursday and a team lunch on Friday (followed by afternoon tea at university when we get our results) but I'm hoping if I stick with the vegetarians I won't eat too much / unhealthy options.
Congratulations to everyone who lost, and good luck for next week!
A very warm welcome to you, and thanks for joining us for this Monday weigh-in. It sounds like you've had a really good week, and Congratulations on losing 2 pounds, that's a brilliant result.
Also, you've obviously got great will-power to be able to sit so close to those chocolate temptations and to have resisted them, so really well done. Maybe they should put a cover over them so they're not visible to all. Not everyone would have such great will-power as you did.
Thanks for your kind words regarding my weight gain this week. I will weigh tomorrow, but I fear it won't be good as I have already eaten more than I usually do and I've not done much exercise today! I think it's that thing of getting 'into holiday mood' - I need to put a brake on things before they get out of control…
Infact, I think I'll wait till I get back from holiday before I weigh, because if I've put more weight on tomorrow, I won't start off in a very good mood… Although, I am in a very good mood at the moment, so it would be hard to scupper that feeling.
I hope the Summer party on Thursday goes ok for you and also the team lunch on Friday. Choose wisely and you'll stand yourself in good stead.
Wishing you a great week. Please do join in with Prin at next Monday's weigh-in, if you'll like to, and she'll also be there the following week. I'll be back on July 13th, and hopefully catch up with you then.
Have a great holiday Lowcal! Will check in with Prin next week - have had a terrible couple of weeks food wise and have avoided weighing as didn't want to face an inevitable gain! I know I'm a cowardly custard! Hoping to have a 'damage limitation' week and will weigh next week.
Good luck with your 'damage limitation' week - and hope your weigh-in goes well next week. If you don't feel like facing the scales this week, then that is not a cowardly choice - it is the choice of a woman who knows when she feels comfortable to weigh. Hopefully next week you'll be 'ready'.
I love the Spanish symbols you've put on your post - really good!!!
Look forward to catching up with you when I get back. In the meantime, I hope you have a couple of better weeks ahead.
Hi, have a lovely relaxing holiday, hope its all you are dreaming of I am also away shortly so I will check back in when I can. Good luck for the next few weeks.
Great to hear you're also away shortly, and I hope you have a lovely time.
Look forward to catching up with you when we're both back.
Look out for Prin's weigh-ins on the next 2 Mondays if you do happen to be around for either of them.
Wishing you some great weeks ahead.
Lowcal
Hi lowcal
Don't worry about the weight - just do as suggested and check again tomorrow - if it's the same, try not to worry as this is a lifestyle change and journey so hiccups are bound to occur along the way.
Enjoy your holiday and look forward to hearing of your exploits when you return.
I'm off to Poland for a few days over the weekend so postponing my weigh in and doing it again a week on Friday xx
I did weigh again this morning, as per SineadC92's suggestion (and several others who also suggested that I do that), and I'm pleased to report that I weigh 13 stone 2.4 pounds this morning (Tuesday morning) so since last Monday I've actually only gained 0.2 pound. So relieved!
I'm not going to post anymore now this week as I'm definitely off on my holiday now. Just packing the last few bits and bobs.
I'll be back in July, and have a great couple of weeks everyone. Remember to look out for Prin's weigh-ins for the next 2 Monday weigh ins. I'll be back on 13th July.
Hello all weighing in a day late -at a shameful 11st 4.5 lbs as I was in London yesterday being bad, since I posted 2 wwks ago have been to France for a birthday party unfortunately they are pastry chefs , been on the telly footage from last year, been on the northern belle to Ascot and finally lunch in London yesterday so I can take the 5lbs. Only a leaving do on Friday would like to be 11. 3 by Monday
Mixed bag this week Lowcal enjoy spain and don't worry about the little gain plus you are always far more restrained than I on holiday enjoy! We will keep the home fires burning, when do you go do you want me to reply yo to this weeks late comers?
I am literally waiting for a taxi at this very moment, so just about to go - excited!!!!
Feel free to reply to late-comers if you want - but only if you want to, because they know you'll be here for the next 2 weigh-ins, so they won't be expecting you to reply if they're late for this Monday's weigh-in.
I am extremely grateful for your help - and for standing in whilst I'm away - so thank you again!
Yes, I do weigh every day, so it will be different to not see the scales till I get back…
This is definitely my last post now, as I am going out the door.
Congratulations to Bealmor (noticed your 1 pound loss above - really good!).
Byeeee everyone, see you on 13th July, all being well
Take care Prin, and have a great week - so glad you had a lovely break at Ascot and got to see the Queen close-up.
So i missed LC before her travels. I too have been on travels - whilst I enjoy the time away i don't enjoy the results. Weigh in today - 13stone - whaaaaat - that is not right. moved the scales an inch and I had lost 5 pounds - excellent!!
So a weeding this week - which will all go wonderfully badly - so no high expectations from me
Lol Suzy you have me to answer to for the next two weeks, I take it you are not gardening but seeing a couple in love tie the knot! Enjoy the day it's shocking that people have such nice cake nowadays instead of that nasty dry fruit pap that was so easy to say no to! Keep weighing in - says her of the 5lb gain........... Note to self try and lead by example for the next two weeks!
Hi still here have been having a rough few weeks with my son and his headteacher. She manages to rub me right the wrong way when it comes to my son! My husband had to step in and calm the waters. Started eating ok but blown it over the weekend with a mass of sweet stuff as part of bbq. Still there's not so much left and hubby and I have agreed in general don't need keep buying crisps and sweets even/ esp for the kids. Both trying buy more sensibly is a step forward, not just me against other sugar addicts in the house. So weight today not so great 11st 2 lbs but did get down to 10st 13lbs last week! Easy to put weight on harder get it off. See how the next week goes.
Just noticed your message, and thanks for this. Hope things are going well for you this week. I've just posted the latest thread (July 13th), and the link is here:
