I'm back from my holiday, and had a lovely time in Spain. On my pre-holiday weigh-in (Monday 22nd June 2015) I weighed 13 stone 4 pounds, and today (13th July) I weigh 13 stone 6.4 pounds, so I've gained 2.4 pounds. My goal is to lose that by next Monday, now that I'm back to my normal routine.
I am so grateful to Prin for leading the last 2 Monday weigh-ins, and really enjoyed reading those threads to see how everyone has been getting on - some impressive losses, really great progress. Thank you again Prin for helping out and giving up your time to respond to everyone - you did a great job, and you look fantastic in your photos. A lovely one of you with your Mum and friends that you posted on 29th June.
I'm really looking forward to catching up with you all again, and so I hope you'll join me for this Monday weigh-in. If you're new, and fancy joining us - please do - it's a friendly and supportive group.
Wishing you all a great week ahead.

Hi lowcal, glad you enjoyed your holiday.I dont think thats a bad gain considering you were away. Everyone is entitled to a little time off.
I have lost 2lbs this week which I'm really pleased with as it's got me right on track for where I want to be by the end of August. I'm off to monocco on the 30th and I'm really hoping to hit my 4 stone mark by then. Still 10lbs to go but with 7 weeks I'm feeling confident.
Congratulations on losing 2 pounds this week, and being right on track for where you want to be by the end of August. You are doing really well, and making great progress. Glad you're feeling confident, and wishing you another great week ahead.
I noticed that you also lost 2 pounds during both the previous Monday weigh-ins. Consistent weight loss - really good!
Hope you're feeling a bit better after being ill last week.
Wishing you a great week ahead.
Thanks for your kind words about my weight gain - I am very pleased with the amount, as normally I gain far more on holiday (i.e. usually more like half a stone or more), so if I can get the 2.4 pounds off this week, I will be really happy. I am really hoping to get down to the 12's by the end of July if I can.
Great that you've got your holiday in Monocco to aim for at the end of August.
Have you been to Monaco before??? If not and you like shopping malls, go and take in the Metropole Mall by the casino and Le Café du Paris. It is exquisitely expensive and there is a shoe shop there called Mercedeh. It is so expensive they have security guards by the door. Such blingy shoes!
I lived in Monaco for a couple of years and always swore blind that before we left I would buy a pair of shoes from there!
Welcome back LC. But as yo say thanks to Prin for putting in effort in - i got three gold stars!
Anyway I think that this modest holiday gain which you will soon shake off. I am about to go to Spain - next weekend for two weeks. But i do have scales in Spain - so i am hoping to stay on top of eating and drinking.
My modest loss this week - is 1 pound - but still a total loss with my re-boot of 4.5 pounds. I also took all my measurements yesterday - so i will track that. ( interesting to see the gain there since xmas!).
At work we did a tot up of the total weight loss in team since xmas- 11 stone - that is a whole person lost - wowee. I wonder how much we have totalled in weight loss??? Maybe one of us stalwarts could do a tot up at end of Monday's replies and do a count??? I may do this in a bout of enthusiasm
Congratulations to you for your 1 pound loss this week, and to your re-boot loss of 4.5 pounds, that is really great!!!! Well done you for those 3 Gold stars. Much deserved!
I hope you've been enjoying some power-walking with your dog this week. Sounds like fun.
Yes, good idea to do a count - will look forward to seeing the results of that.
Thanks for your kind words about my holiday gain. It's good that you'll have your scales with you for your forthcoming holiday to Spain. I missed being able to weigh myself - and Prin knows that I do tend to do that 'daily' rather than weekly - I know it sounds a bit obsessive, but I actually like to see how it varies day by day, and it does keep me on track. I missed being able to weigh whilst on holiday.
Your work team have done incredibly well to lose 11 stone in weight since Christmas.
You sound really enthusiastic today, and I love your enthusiasm. Wishing you a great week ahead.
Good morning Lowcal, welcome back. So glad that you had a great holiday and with such a minimal gain. That's pretty amazing, well done. I am sure this week you will get back into routine with added enthusiasm.
I had a good week in the West country and despite the occasion had a lovely time with my girls.
I learned a very valuable lesson during my week away. I ate breakfast in the hotel every morning having two grilled rashers of bacon trimmed of all fat, a poached egg and one sausage (that I couldn't resist) along with a slice of wholemeal bread. At lunchtime had a buffet selecting the healthiest options I could find or a salad. The evening meals were dire as no healthy options at all BUT it was all fine dining food with micro herbs and micro portions! So the inclusive meal was starter, main course and dessert and I ate it all, along with the petit fours accompanying the coffee! There was also no temptation to "pick" during the late afternoon/evening which can be problematic for me at home sometimes!
Yesterday back home, I shame faced had a craving for peanut butter and biscuits. No amount of telling myself I mustn't stopped me, so this once in a blue moon splurge happened and I enjoyed it!!!
This morning however I jumped on the scales with my eyes half shut and amazed to find that I had lost 1 lb! Now if I had not succumbed to my moment of weakness yesterday it would probably have been more, which goes to show that you can eat what you want within moderation, controlling portion size (just scrub round the peanut butter & biscuits!)
I am now 3.7lbs off heading into the 12 stones which of course is my next achievable goal. As I didn't have any gym time last week must have three sessions this week and adjust my portion control.
It's great to be back and to have such lovely welcome back messages on this site, so thank you so much.
Glad to hear you enjoyed seeing your girls in the West Country, and it sounds like you made some good choices regarding your food intake during that time. Yes, it does show that you can eat well and still lose weight, and that's a good message to know, as it is better and more sustainable to have a lifestyle that encourages that.
My sincere condolences to you regarding your Aunt's funeral, and I hope that it went ok.
Congratulations on losing 1 pound this week, and also for your 3.7 pounds off and heading into the 12 stones. That is also my goal to get into the 12's.
You've set yourself some good goals for this week. I must try to get myself to the gym at some point this week. Enjoy your gym sessions!
By the way, thanks to the recommendations by yourself and Prin regarding Desigual clothes, I visited their Sale whilst in Spain and bought myself a couple of lovely tops and also a bag - they are amazing! So colourful.
Hi, I'm relatively new round here and treating today as my start day. 16 stone 3. I go on holiday 9 weeks on weds and aiming to be at 15.7 or less by then.
A very warm welcome to you, and thanks for joining us for today's weigh-in. You've done the major step of posting your first weigh-in result, and hopefully you'll be much lighter and achieve your goal of being 15 stone 7 pounds or less by 9 weeks time. It definitely sounds achievable.
Are you doing the 12 week NHS plan, or something else? Whatever you're doing, I wish you success, and it's great that you've got your holiday to spur you on to achieve your weight loss goals.
Look forward to hopefully seeing you at future Monday weigh-ins.
Ola Lowcal, sinead, suzybenj and everyone else who posts this week.
Welcome back
End of week 7
Here goes, last week 97.00kg
This week 96.00kgs
Despite going back to work I managed, easily, 20 hours plus of different exercise and I can do much more than two months ago but I am getting v hungry in the late evenings at the moment. Challenge next week is to rearrange meal times to avoid "two dinner" lifestyle.
Congratulations to you for losing 1 kilo this week. That is really great. Fantastic that you achieved 20 hours plus of different exercises, despite going back to work. Hopefully your rearrangement of your meal times will help you to ensure you don't' feel overly hungry in the late evenings. Pre-planning can be really helpful.
Sometimes a plateau does happen, and we can end up bobbing up and down - but you are wise to re-start the 12 week programme, and hopefully that will enable you to re-focus and get back on track.
I hope you have a good week ahead, and enjoy the first week back on the 12 week plan - and as you predicted that I'll lose my weight by next Monday, I also predict that you will lose some too. So now we need to make our predictions come true!
Here's to a good weight loss week ahead for us all.
Welcome back lowcal, I'm glad you had a good holiday. That is a fairly minor gain and I'm sure you will lose that easily. I've had a gain of 2 pounds this week, but I'm not really surprised as I had a week when I just ate anything. It did not seem to matter whether I was hungry or not, and the more unhealthy the food was the better! I've been better the end of this week so hope that I am over this phase. It may have been hormonal, as I was in the middle of my cycle last week. I need to get back on the straight and narrow this week, back to logging everything and eating healthily!
It sounds like you've had a week when you just needed to eat what you felt like, and the fact is you've only gained 2 pounds, so not too bad! The fact you've been better towards the end of the week suggests that you're already getting back on track, and I'm sure you'll soon lose those 2 pounds. I noticed that you lost 3 pounds last week, which is a lot! You also mentioned that you'd been knitting to avoid snacking - does that mean you did less knitting over this recent week?
You also mentioned making some jam - what flavour was that? I made jam a couple of years ago, but I found it quite difficult to do. It was blackberry jam, but did turn out quite tasty.
I've still been doing some knitting, but maybe not as much. I make loads of different jams, as we seem to have a really productive garden and so have made strawberry, gooseberry and strawberry, and gooseberry curd. There will be more jam making soon as my husband picked 10 pounds of raspberries this weekend which are all now in the freezer next to all the blackcurrants and redcurrants! We are planning on selling some at a car boot or we will never finish eating it!
Many thanks, I did enjoy my hols. Very relaxing, and just what I needed!
Your week can't have been as disastrous as you anticipated, as you have lost 1 pound, so Congratulations for doing that! It's good that you still stepped on the scales, despite dreading doing so.
Great to hear you're feeling 'back on course' and good that being led astray didn't lead to weight-gain.
Hi LowCal, sounds like you had a great holiday and the weight gain is minimal, I'm sure you'll soon get that off.
I've lost 3.5lb this week, really pleased about that. Especially as I treated myself to a piece of coffee and walnut cake most days, courtesy of the ladies at the WI fete last week. It was very yummy! But I did have small controlled wedges, which I calorie counted - my daily treat. It's all gone now 😀
Please to see that I can now start to get into clothes that were uncomfortable before.
Congratulations to you for losing 3.5 pounds this week - that is really good! The coffee and walnut cake from the WI fete sounds very tasty. The fact you controlled your portion size is key!
Great that you can now get into those clothes that were previously uncomfortable. Hope you enjoy wearing them again.
Good to have you back with us Lowcal, sounds like you had a nice holiday and to only have gained 2.4lbs is impressive, I have no doubt you will have shed that small gain by next Monday's weigh in.
I'm pleased to report I'm 1&1/2lbs lighter this week, this means I have just 12lbs to lose before I reach my goal.
Thanks for your kind words, and I am very glad to be back again with you all, and to have the support and encouragement to continue this weight-loss journey with you all. It really helps.
Congratulations to you for losing 1.5 pounds this week. I noticed that you lost 3 pounds last week, that is amazing. You are now into your last stone of weight loss. Really good!
Wishing you another great week ahead.
Lowcal
Hi Lowcal,
What a result ! I've put that on in the time you've been away and not had a good time! !.Happy to say back on track and hoping for good result on Friday.
Glad to hear you're back on track and hoping for a good result on Friday, I will look out for your post to see how you get on.
Thanks for your kind words. Usually I would put on well over half a stone in weigh over a holiday, but I'm pleased to say that I've learned some better habits and strategies that I now rely on. Those include: 1) Watching my portion sizes; 2) always ensuring I have a balance of protein, carbs, good fats, and plenty of vegetables and some fruit each day; 3) doing as much walking as I can each day.
Those things really helped me during my holiday, and I managed to achieve a good balance of enjoying the foods I ate, but also managing not to over-indulge too much.
That's a great result Lowcal, and I'm sure you'll soon loose the holiday weight.
Well I've lost 2lbs this week, so really pleased. Concentrating on keeping it off this week, we have visitors for a couple of days, so a few meals out on the cards. Will be exercising as well though, so this helps.
Congratulations to you for losing 2 pounds this week, that is really great! I hope you enjoy having your visitors over, and having those meals out. Great that you are planning on exercising too.
You've set yourself a sensible goal to maintain your weight loss over this next week, in view of your visitors and those meals out - so good luck with that goal.
Lowcal, I hope you had a good holiday. You did well of just a small gain whilst on holiday. I think what is great is that we get back on it. I have had 2 weekends of over indulgence for 40th birthdays but in between back on the healthy way. Before i would have used it as an excuse to keep going on the over indulgence. This support group really helps me keep focused. So surprisngly in 2 weeks a 1lbs loss. Hoping to lose at least 1lb this week to take me into 12s.
I have all of a sudden had a lot of people notice and comment on my weight loss (just over 3 stone now). It has been lovely, but suddenly feel this pressure to keep going which I did not feel before, as apart from those closest, I did not tell anyone about trying to lose. Maybe it will help to keep motivation!
Congratulations to you for losing 1 pound, and hopefully you'll achieve your goal to be in the 12's very soon! Great to hear you've lost over 3 stone already, that is really impressive. I am not surprised your friends have noticed the difference, and are commenting positively. That's really good.
Glad you enjoyed your 2 weekends of Birthday celebrations - a bit of over-indulgence can be fun, and the important thing (as you said) is to get back on track afterwards. Which is exactly what you did, hence your pound lost.
Hi, Glad you've had a good holiday, well done on not putting on too much weight, I'm sure you will get it off this week.
Since coming back of my long holiday I haven't really got back into a good routine again with family comitments but am watching I don't put on my weight again. I am 12.12 today, 4lb up on my weight before I went on holiday for 7 weeks.
I do want to get my weight down and continue to check in on a monday, will try harder this week and hopefully see a loss next week.
Welcome back from your holidays! Thanks for your welcome home too - you've not gained very much over the 7 weeks away, 4 pounds should soon come off again once you are able to get back into a normal routine again. I can imagine it would definitely take some adjustment after nearly 2 months away. So just take it easy and pace yourself back into it.
Hopefully you'll see a loss on the scales next Monday. I know you were planning to do lots of gardening after your holidays, so that should be excellent exercise as well.
Good morning I hope you enjoyed your break, Lowcal a bit gloomy here this morning it's a pleasure to look after the thread, and thank you so much for being here for us all, I am back over 11 this morning 😔 so goal for this week is to get back with my chums on the 10 stones club it will be challenging as 3 meals out this week .........have a good week all snd stay slim/slimming!
You deserve lots of gold stars for being such an amazing thread leader for the past couple of weeks, so take as many as you want!!!
You'll soon be back in that 10's club, I have no doubt about that. I know it will be a bit challenging in view of your 3 planned meals out this week, but I know how disciplined you can be in terms of your exercise, and I reckon you'll compensate. No pressure though! Well, maybe just a little bit…!
Here's to a 'slimming week' ahead, and let's shift those extra pounds we no longer want. We never wanted them in the first place, so they have no right to hang around.
Wishing you a great week ahead.
Thanks again for your dedicated help and support, as always.
HI I'm new on here too. Just want to say what a wonderful, encouraging site this is. Everyone all knows how we feel with weight issues and I think it's great knowing we are all in the same position and can be supportive.
I have completed week 1 and lost 4.5lbs. I am going on holiday to Florida in 12 weeks so found this site at a great time.
A very warm welcome to you, and thanks so much for joining us for this Monday weigh-in. It is a very supportive and encouraging group, and I'm glad you have enjoyed reading the posts so far. I'm even happier that you decided to join us, and report such a great loss on the scales - Congratulations on losing 4.5 pounds in your first week, that's really great!
Fantastic that you'll be going to Florida on your holidays in 12 weeks, as that's perfect timing for enabling you to get through the whole 12 week NHS programme before you go, and hopefully you'll be a lot lighter by the time you travel there!
Look forward to catching up with you in future posts - we're here every Monday, and have been for the past couple of years!
Wishing you a great week ahead.
Lowcal
Hi Lowcal, glad you had a good holiday. A small gain is not bad and the joy you got out of your holiday balances it in my book. Your positivity to get straight back on your plan is a credit to you. Have a fabby week in every way. 😄
Thanks so much for your very positive comments, which I really appreciate.
I also wish you a fabby week ahead - my spell-checker wanted to change that word to 'tabby' but I wouldn't let it. I don't want you to have a 'tabby week' - a 'fabby' one sounds much better!
Hope you are doing well with your weight loss goals, and I hope you have a really great week.
Well done on managing your weight gain during your holidays - I think the key really is changing your behaviour to get in control of your weight.
Last week I weighed 10st11 and this week I weigh 10st12, so I've gained a pound. Since returning from my holiday I've had difficulty getting back on track and appear to have semi-slipped into my old habits, so I'm not surprised about the gain. I'm really disappointed with myself though as I've worked so hard to lose the 34lbs since starting the NHS plan. I've decided to keep a food diary this week to keep me focused on my intake so hopefully I'll be posting a pound loss next week as opposed to a gain.
Good luck Lowcal and all the other folks posting on this thread for a good weight loss week ahead x
Thanks for the kind welcome back, and for your positive comments. I really appreciate them.
Sorry to hear you've gained a pound this week, but like you say, it's hard to re-adjust following a holiday, and I am sure I will find the same this week too. I am hoping to have a loss on the scales next week, but at the same time I am aware that it might not necessarily happen - being outside our usual routine and then re-adjusting does take some work - it could go either way, but I very much hope we all see a loss on the scales next week.
I know you hadn't been well in the first week of your holidays, and I really hope you're feeling better now. I hope you had a lovely time, and I'm sure you'll be on the losing streak again very soon - that pound will soon disappear again.
Wishing you a good week ahead.
Lowcal
Hi Lowcal and welcome back. I think you're brave to weigh yourself straight after your holiday. I have to admit I chickened out of doing that! You sound positive about reversing that 2.4lb and I'm confident you will. So good luck for your week ahead and getting back to healthy habits etc.
I have stayed the same this week at 11st6. But after such a big loss last week I was realistic and didn't expect another enormous loss straightaway. I went over my calories quite a lot past week, 5 days out of 7, so there's room for improvement. Although for my birthday we went on a massive day long bike ride from Rye to Dungeness to Folkestone which apparently burned 2000 calories which seems to have balanced with my birthday ciders and fish and chips ( leaving the batter and some of the chips as per new habits! )
Wishing you a belated Happy Birthday, and glad to hear you celebrated it with such delicious food (leaving your batter off the fish of course - that's what I tend to do as well). Your bike ride sounds really good - all those calories burned up, and it must have been a fantastic ride with lots of scenery. Lovely.
Thanks so much for your kind words - I am definitely trying to be positive about my goal to get rid of the holiday gain, but as I just said to Nic1976, I know it won't necessarily be easy, as re-adjusting after holiday is quite challenging, as we all know.
I noticed in the previous two threads (that Prin kindly lead) that you had lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks, and that's phenomenal. Congratulations for that loss, and well done for maintaining that loss this week - that is really great, especially as you celebrated your Birthday. You're doing so well. Great progress.
Hi Lowcal and all. Welcome back from your hols Lowcal, hope you had a fab time. A 2.4lb gain is nothing over the course of a 2 week hol and I'm sure you'll get it off in no time!
I have gone back up to 17st 5 again this week I've got behind with my studies and have been comfort eating (which has, of course, made me feel worse)!! Think I've reigned myself in now and fingers crossed I'll be back on track by next week's weigh in.. I'm going to the Great Yorkshire Show tomorrow so I'll get my hubby to take a few picks of me with the pigs (that should keep me focused ;D )
Hope everyone is well and have a healthy happy week!
Thanks for the lovely warm welcome back, which I appreciate!
Sorry to hear you've got a bit behind on your studies, and that the comfort eating has taken hold a little, but I'm glad to hear you feel like you've reigned yourself in a bit, and hopefully you'll have a better week this week. I noticed that you lost 3 pounds last week, so although it's a bit up and down at the moment, hopefully overall you're maintaining.
Hope you have a lovely time at the Great Yorkshire Show tomorrow.
Wishing you a good week ahead. Here's to a loss on the scales for all of us next Monday!
Lovely to have you back although Prin was fantastic stepping into the breach etc.... ;)) I would happily take a gain like that after a fortnight's holiday - hope you had a great time.
This week I had a STS at 10 stones 12 pounds. Although I was saintly all week I have had a shocker of a weekend and have seriously overindulged so I should really be quite happy with staying the same this week.
My goal for this coming week is to lose 2 pounds - quite ambitious but I need to rein in my eating as there are definitely a few too many treats creeping in.
Thank you for your kind words, and I agree with you that Prin was fantastic at stepping into the breach - she's very encouraging to everyone and enthusiastic.
Yes, I did have a lovely time on my holiday - very relaxing and enjoyable.
I want to Congratulate you on the fact that you stepped into the 10's a couple of weeks ago, and lost yet another pound last week, so the fact you've maintained those losses this week is admirable. Really well done!
Glad you enjoyed your weekend, and that the over-indulgences didn't show up on the scales.
Good luck with your goal for this week - and hope you have a fantastic week.
Hi Lowcal glad to hear you are back and that you enjoyed your lovely holiday in Spain. Considering you have been away, enjoyed yourself and flew home you have done an amazing job only gaining 2.4 pounds. Flying alone can effect weight loss so I have heard.. so maybe your gain is just down to that who knows, but I am sure now you are back you will get back into your usual routine and I hope you lose this by next Monday's weigh in "anything is possible" that's my motto
I have made it to 13 st this week and lost 3 lbs at my weigh in on Sat. I am so pleased with this result and so close getting into the 12's. I have posted a couple messages on my wall as it was a week of positivity and to show that no matter the result on the scale we stick with it and believe in ourselves and I just wanted to share with others my journey.
We missed you Lowcal and glad your back to share with us your journey and give us your well received support as always
Good luck at your next weigh in Lowcal and have a wonderful week ahead
Thank you so much for your very kind words, and I really appreciate your warm welcome back.
I'm so glad to hear you've had some positive weeks, and achieved so much in that time - many Congratulations on losing 3 pounds, and getting so close to the 12's - you're nearly there - hopefully next week!
I like your motto 'Anything is possible' as it suggests all kinds of potential, and we could all do with some of that. So I will adopt that motto this week, and I am sure it will inspire me to a weight loss on the scales next Monday.
Wishing you another good week ahead.
Lowcal
Hi Lowcal
Glad you had a good holiday. Since last time I wrote lots has happened. My weight has stayed the same which I am really pleased about. Exercise has lapsed so need to get back to it shortly.
In the last month I have been on the low fodmap diet which has had an incredible impact on my stomach problem so. No more bloating or pain when I eat. As I have to cook everything from scratch it's been quite demanding. However, I am hoping to be ready for more weight loss soon as I have another 2 stone at least to go.
Will try and remember to do a starting weight next Monday.
I'm so pleased to hear that the low Fodmap diet has helped ease your bloating and pain on eating - that must be so good to be free from that now. Great that you've maintained your weight too, and managed to cope with all the cooking from scratch. I hope you've been able to perhaps cook some batches and maybe freeze them into portions to save yourself from constant cooking.
It's great to be back and hear so many positive posts from everyone. It is definitely inspiring.
I hope you have a great week ahead, and look forward to catching up with you at next Monday's weigh-in.
She's Lowcal! Glad you gphad a good trip and well done on limiting gain to 2 and a bit lb.
I always seem to miss the call to weigh when you're away but thankfully I haven't lost my motivation. 11st 9lb on the scales this am. 3 lbs less than the last report from me and 5lb in the month I've been using myfitnesspal.com. Would love it to be faster but hoping that means it's fat loss. Noticing easing of tightness if clothes.
Prob facing dip tonight as have to go swimsuit shopping! Just over 3 weeks to my hol.
Thanks for your lovely welcome back, which is much appreciated.
I am so pleased to hear you've lost 3 pounds this week, and that you've lost 5 pounds over the month since you started using Myfitnesspal - I think that's a good rate of progress. I know you wanted to lose a bit more, but I really do think you're doing really well - especially as you're noticing that your clothes are less tight. That's an excellent sign!
Hopefully you'll find a lovely swimsuit tonight, and will feel good about wearing it. Not long till your holiday - bet you can't wait! But you've got 3 weeks, so can make extra progress in that time.
Thanks Lowcal! Bought the only swimsuit I tried. Sadly a size 14 rather than 12 and not a bikini but it fits nicely around the bust and you've got to play to your strengths! Now googling "reduce the appearance of cellulite" for the poor ample thighs!
Hi LC - I did a tot up - of the folk who declared there ups and downs - we lost as a group 23.5 pounds - wow. And gained 10.5 - so overall loss of 13.5 pounds between us. I will keep a total each week - so you can report the following week in your post.
Thanks for doing that, it was a great idea to do a tot up of our gains and losses, and it's great to hear we've had an overall loss of 13.5 pounds between us. I will make a note of that, and report it in the post next week, as you suggest. Great idea.
After ballooning up to 12st1lb I am back to 11st11lb this week and much happier being on the downward trend, still not back to my pre-holiday weight, but moving in the right direction ... Phew!
Congratulations for getting back into the 11's, that's so brilliant, and you've lost 4 pounds! That's so great!!! You're moving in the right direction, and I'm sure you'll soon be back to your pre-holiday weight.
Lovely to see you back Lowcal, and I'm glad you had a good time. Thanks also to Prin for holding the fort.
Not a bad week for me – another 2lb lost, which is probably the best you can expect once the initial period of rapid weight loss is past. A nice lady offered me some lovely looking home-made cake today and I managed to say no ... I found myself searching for an excuse and then wondered why I was trying to make an excuse, what's wrong with being honest? So I just told her I was on a low calorie diet, and of course she understood and it wasn't embarrassing at all. I don't know why we so often feel ashamed of admitting that we're trying to lose weight.
So, I'm just starting Week 10 now. I've lost 21lb in the first 9 weeks and am now a whisker away from reaching 14 stone. A couple of months ago when I was nearly 16 stone it was hard to imagine ever getting to this point!
Congratulations to you for losing 2 pounds this week, and also for declining the offer of that cake - that would have taken some discipline to do that. It's good that you we're able to tell the woman your reason for declining, and that she understood.
Wow, you've done so well - losing 21 pounds in 9 weeks, and getting close to the 14's, that's exciting!!! I noticed that you also lost 3 pounds last week, that is really good.
Welcome back lowcal. I hope you had a fab time away on holiday.
I've missed the last 3 weigh ins. It has all been quite hectic - finished a major project on Friday and start a totally new job on Monday.
Anyway - my weight loss has been slow but steady. Leaving lunches and drinks have not helped.I'm down one pound this week - which takes me to 10 pounds overall. Determined to kick on now.
Great to have you back again, and Congratulations on losing 1 pound, and achieving a total weight loss of 10 pounds, that's really great. Sounds like you've got a lot of changes going on, and I hope your first day in your new job goes well on Monday.
Well done for getting through all those 'leaving do's' and still managing to lose some weight, that is good going!
You sound motivated and committed, and I'm sure that will spur you on to another good week ahead, so hope you have a great week ahead.
Hi I've just completed the C25K plan and I am I think the term is morbidly obese and would like to join in with the weekly weigh ins. I joined slimming world online a short while back and I've just downloaded the nhs12 week plan - getting started week 1 so would it be ok to join in with the Monday night weigh ins? My current weight is 17st 5lbs my goal is 9st 7lbs.
A very warm welcome to you, and thanks so much for joining us. You are very welcome to join in the Monday weigh-ins, and I will look forward to catching up with you at future weigh-ins. It's a really supportive and enthusiastic group of people, all with very similar aims in terms of trying to lose weight in a healthy way.
I hope you have a great first week, and that you enjoy the plan. Have you seen the 12 week NHS plan - if you need the link, let me know. I can also recommend using an app like Myfitnesspal to keep a record of your food and drink intake, and also any exercise. It really helps.
Just saw your reply. A very warm welcome to you. I would love it if you'd like to join us for the Monday weigh-in - if you click on this link it will take you to today's weigh-in (27th July 2015), and if you'd like to re-post in there, just like you did here, I will welcome you to the group - and they will then see you've joined us - you can also read today's posts by everyone - they are inspiring! A very friendly and supportive group of people, and you are a very welcome addition to the group - so please do join us there:
