I have MS so can't do the walking exercises in the 12-week plan and am using an exercise cycle so it would be great if anyone has any ideas for strength training exercises for getting started. Many thanks.

Have just discovered Myfitnesspal (and love it) but need ideas on strength training.
I can recommend the Yoga for MS programme at Ekhart Yoga. It isn't free - you can pay to download or take out a subscription. However, there is a session up on YouTube so you could try it out and see if you like the teacher (she has MS herself)
I don't have quite the same diagnosis but I've just graduated from the NHS Strength and Flexibility programme - it does get pretty challenging. I've also done the NHS Couch to 5K programme - ironically because I couldn't sustain brisk walking. I find running easier than walking (not that the pace is much different...)
Swimming or other forms of exercise in water may also suit.
Such a variable condition, both between individuals and for the same person from day to day. I wish you luck... and much enjoyment. I don't burn a lot of calories but it does help.
