Not great news for the MS community. Just a reminder of how careful we need to be with Covid

multiplesclerosisnewstoday....

I can share how my neuro handles the whole schedule of infusion & Covid vaccine (I'm lucky that he's part of an MS/Covid research):

- blood test prior to vaccine to make sure my immune system is back up and can "register" the virus, especially in my case where Ocrevus wipes out my B-cells and a great deal of my T-cells

- blood test prior to infusion to make sure my immune system is not too low.

Knowing that I was going to travel internationally over the holidays, he postponed my infusion to January, because he did not want my immune system to be depleted prior to travel.

My next infusion is last week of Jan and I must say that I'm a bit worried to enter a phase with little immune protection given the current Covid wave.

That’s really nice to have! Has Omicron peaked in your area? Might be prudent to wait until everyone and their dog gets over it 🤔

anaishunter i hope you were able to stay well and safe during your trip. I was told the vaccine takes about two weeks to get to its full strength so the end of January sounds right. take good care.

How great to have a concerned doctor in your corner!

I just had an antibody test for covid and i have antibodies! I got vaccinated before starting Ocrevus so its good to know the antibodies are still there. What i want is to test to see if i have antibodies to shingles (got (2nd shot after starting Ocrevus) and hep A which i got recently and my doctor (at least the np) said theres no test for that.
