i just got off of a tele-conference with AARP with dr andrew fauci and dr collins about the new vaccines.there are 2 company's that are ready to go soon.one company is pfizer and there challenge is they have to keep there meds at 70 below ,the other company madira. is easier to store with a regular refridgerator and freezer.they are NOT a live vaccine, either one.Great news. they did test it with people with compromised immune system,no problem, for all of us and many more, good news !they will start in december doling it out, they had a meeting a the white house today,on how they are going to distribute them, who is first and etc.

vaccine for covid-19
Hopefully it works 🙏🙏👍 Ken 🐾🐾
Looks like things are looking up.
Good news! Thanks for sharing!
i think it is good news, they also talked about,we will have 2 injections a week apart, and PROBABLY a booster shot every year.they said everyone will have it by spring.
Ah, as the saying goes, there's many a slip between the cup and the lip. Forgive my skepticism, but offering a two dose vaccine to more than 300 million people in the US is not going to be a simple effort. I'm pleased that it looks as if one or more will be available eventually, but it will be a monumental task convincing many people to be vaccinated as well as to distribute it far and wide.
Thank you for the post, now where does the line start??!!
Wonderful news. Thanks for sharing info.
Let's pray it works at least as well as the flu vaccine does. I am one of those that won't be taking it though. I never get vaccines. There is too much of the unknown in them and anything I take seems to throw my MS into a tizzy. I had to have tetanus shot not too long ago and it set the MS off. Even my Ocrevus infusion sets it off for a few days until it has to give in. So I'm just very careful.
I was also pleased to hear that AztraZenica will also soon release theirs because they have data on elderly volunteers who did not have adverse reactions. But I'm not holding my breath because roll out will take a while.
Thank you for sharing this interesting news. I did see the invite from AARP about this conference but was too late to participate. I will still keep researching until my mind is at ease. Naturally, we all want to be safe and protected. COVID19 is scary and deadly and we need to all that we possible can to stop it. I did hear yesterday in the WH update from the WH COVID19 Team that even after the vaccine has been taken we need to still wear our mask when going out and keep up distancing and above all wash our hands. I believe I have read and heard there will be the 1st injection and then in a few weeks a 2nd injection??? I believe that is what I heard. Also, as we know Pfizer vaccine MUST be keep colder than colder, the other vaccine will not have to stored at such cold/freezer temperatures. I am sure there will be many things that will continue to change and update as we go forward. Please all of you stay safe, take care and above all stay as well as possible. Many hugs to all.
They probably didn't mention that the UK government is soliciting bids for AI to process the expected flood of COVID-19 vaccine injuries and side effects.
What makes me concerned is the need they had on a few occasions to halt trials for neurological reactions. The uncertainty of HPV vaccine and neurological reactions has lead me to refuse it in my boys until less conflicted results can convince me the benefit outweighs potential risk or they decide otherwise @ 18.
For the Covid vaccine I want to also know how Ocrevus plays into the equation with some certainty/clarity from reputable sources.
I had to take 3 research classes between undergrad and grad school so, yeah, I’m skeptical a bit. Don’t just tell me, show me how that conclusion was reached. My providers love it 🙄
That’s my rant for the day!!
My neuro said that she believes that Ocrevus will research and inform the neuros which vaccine will work best for us. Hope she is right and hope they do it quickly.
i totally get it,i personally do not like to take a new med.until it has been out 7 years.the first care workers will receive it first,my attitude is watch and see
The only thing that makes me nervous is the freezing cold one. Will it be put in you at that temp? If so I would think it would burn from the temp if nothing else. Either way, will take my turn when it's time.
Don't know if this is true, but I heard that individuals over age 75 won't be getting it and that the immunity only lasts for 7 days.....anyone know for sure?
now they said, the front line(nurses,dr etc) will get first then the sickest and elderly next, everyone by spring.now I do know we are to get 2 doses a week apart, maybe that's what they mean by 7 days......who knows?
