I survived COVID-19

I had COVID-19 for 2 weeks. I had every symptom on the COVID-19 web page. It started with a cough. Then another symptom would come & go each day. I had fever almost the whole time. Of course it kicked the MS into high gear! Mostly muscle spasms & cognitive issues. ,& Muscles became very weak. Then after 2 weeks I kept the fever but no new symptoms. I finally went back to the Dr & found out I had a secondary upper respiratory infection. She gave me antibiotics & steroids. I'm on day 2 of those meds & my fever has dropped 1 degree below my normal so now I'm cold! But it's much better than warm! A friend of ours is a retired Dr ,& he told me to take zinc, C, D ,& ivermectin paste for horses. I was already taking the vitamins but he told me to double up & take them 2x a day. I didn't take the ivermectin cuz I had no way of measuring & the liquid was out of stock everywhere. You can poison yourself if not careful. One other thing that I might add is when the coughing started I used my asthma inhaler. It saved me from getting pneumonia. I'm on the mend now but still really weak. I'm tired of looking at the 4 walls of my room. At least I have a window that I can see my rose garden.

Glad you are on the mend. When I had covid back in April I went to the ER for bamlanivimab, an IV antibody treatment to prevent severe covid. I felt better the next day.

Sorry you had to go to the hospital. Glad you made it out!

It was a preventative medicine, because of ms and ocrevus. Only took half an hour. Was never hospitalized.

Sorry you caught the bug, they have finally decided that it’s airborne. Keep drinking lots of water. It’s lovely being able to look at a rose garden. I love seeing mine when the sun is coming up first thing in a morning. I love the way the sun catches the petals, it so peaceful and serene. I hope your hubby hasn’t got it. Blessings Jimeka 🤗 🍫 💐

Thanks! I so miss being outside digging in the dirt keeping the weeds down! Hubby didn't get it. He also got the vaccine . & I gloved & masked up when I left my room & sanitized e everywhere I touched. We did sanitize with a little overkill but it worked.

Glad you are feeling better, and your experience of being sick with COVID is certainly a reminder to those who think that it's "nothing much" that is is in fact a serious and potentially fatal illness.

There is no sound evidence yet that taking larger than normal doses of the vitamins you mentioned actually does anything to deal with COVID.

I've very glad you didn't take any ivermectin - and the retired doctor who told you to buy ivermectin horse worming stuff should be reported - the only problem is that as they are a retired doctor there isn't anyone you can report them to. To say that "You can poison yourself if not careful" is not strictly true - you can poison yourself with ivermectin even if you were to be careful and some people have died through taking ivermectin - which the authorities keep trying to remind people is not shown to work in treating COVID - but desperate and gullible people are not listening. I certainly wouldn't be taking any of that retired doctor's advice in the future, just nod your head and move right along as by giving you "advice" on unproven "treatments" for COVID they really do not have your best interests at heart - and could have perhaps killed you.

Here's some reading material on ivermectin for anyone who's interested.

emergency.cdc.gov/han/2021/...

fda.gov/consumers/consumer-...

www1.racgp.org.au/newsgp/cl...

What is really worrying is that the "results" from one of the studies on use of ivermectin with COVID were found to be flawed - with "...causes for concern, including dozens of patient records that seemed to be duplicates, inconsistencies between the raw data and the information in the paper, patients whose records indicate they died before the study’s start date, and numbers that seemed to be too consistent to have occurred by chance".

nature.com/articles/d41586-...

Here's a list of some of the trials being conducted with ivermectin, and they are almost without fail showing that there is no benefit from using ivermectin.

Thanks for your input. I've been around & worked in & with the medical community for 16 yrs. I'm always doing research on meds & studies. The vitamins do help build your immune system especially when your immune system is compromised as mine is due to DMTs. Doubling up on them when you are sick "Fills in" what's "used up" due to illness. My regular Dr told me she was glad to hear that I was taking those & my inhaler cuz they probably kept me out of the hospital. I'm more of a believer in natural remedies rather than western medicine. This is the first time I've been sick in over 5 years since I got serious about herbal treatments. I'm sure the only reason I got sick was from a church function that put people in close proximity of each other with each other. Covid is not truly airborne. It needs a host to travel & when we get closer than 6 feet facing each other you take a chance on spreading it. We were having a little job fair type event. Tables were far enough apart but the tables are only 3ft apart. That was the problem! Lessons learned.

it's very clear at this point that SARS COCID in all its iterations is a very dangerous disease, AND that there are no miracle cures or preventatives. The best course going forward until the pandemic abates is to stay masked and socially distanced indoors and continue washing hands frequently. I have lost all patience with anti maskers and anti vaxxers. I'm very pleased to hear you were not hospitalized and are now recovering.

So glad you are coming out of it. I caught it Aug 1st lasted 3+ weeks. I too had fever almost everyday. At one point it was almost 104. Had paramedics come a few times. But I knew in my spirit if I went to hospital, I wouldn’t come out. A recharge clinic did a house call and gave me an immunity vitamin cocktail infusion! Once I did that… and of course prayed for healing, I finally got better. They say I have fibrosis now but the Lord will get rid of that! Stay well!

hairbrain4 profile image
hairbrain4 in reply toAnonymous52

Glad you recovered! The immunity cocktail contains what I had already been taking. I'm sure the cocktail had more in it though. I wasn't going to the hospital. I told my husband to take me to the the dogs vet first!

Glad you didn't take the horse medicine. It's make for large animals not humans. Many people are ending up in the hospital because of that stuff!

hairbrain4 profile image
hairbrain4 in reply tomrsmike9

Thanks. I know about that stuff which is why I didn't. It's just to hard to measure the right dose for people. They make a pill for people but if course a Dr won't prescribe it for COVID-19. I still probably wouldn't have taken the people b dose just because of what it is. I don't like what I have to put in my body for MS but at least they've been tested & proven to work.

mrsmike9 profile image
mrsmike9 in reply tohairbrain4

I just don't understand why people would think that medicine made to rid horses of WORMS would help with a virus!!

hairbrain4 profile image
hairbrain4 in reply tomrsmike9

It's crazy I know but on some of the research there have been studies, although flawed, that it does help in some cov2 diseases. Which is the base of the regular flu. So they just make their own assumptions. But as we know we can't fix stupid!

That was interesting! I think I'll just wait for MS research to come up with something safe. I was very skeptical before taking Ocrevus! I've taken it for 2 yes now & I'm going to have to quit cuz it's not working very good anymore & for what it takes for me to go get my infusion it's not worth it now. I would hate to have a Collie & find out that made him sick!

I thought about Kesimpta but it has heart issue warnings & I have A-fib. I need to do more research on it.

Oh, hairbrain4, I am sorry you had to go through that. Still working here, so I tend to stay about 2 days behind with posts. But I am thankful you are better now. Church functions. Yup, I am skipping a church breakfast this morning myself. Just too many people not taking Covid seriously. Be well & safe. Hugs to you!

So glad you are on the mend. My hubby had it for a month August 2020. He felt really bad for 3 months, then tested negative in October! He still has residual affects. Taste is off and some numbness in fingers, hands. Miracle I didn't get it.

hairbrain4 profile image
hairbrain4 in reply toCalfeeChick

I'm sure I had the variant version cuz it wasn't that bad just looking & drug out. Fever at night until towards the end of 2 weeks which I found out that I had an upper respiratory infection & had fever 24/7 for a week. In my opinion that's been worse than COVID-19. Still can't taste anything tho but I am gaining strength back.
