COVID 19 Test

Went yesterday morning to get the COVID 19 test. Because supplies are limited, here in NM, you're supposed to ONLY get a test if you are experiencing symptoms. Except there were two others there as well who were needing the test for roughly the same reason as me. Oh well! I'm called back and after having written my autobiography on the paper work, I get weighed, get my blood pressure taken, oxygent levels measured, and then have to rattle off all my meds and why I'm taking each. And then have to give my family history! Now, enter the doctor carrying a little Rubbermaid basket with swabs. He says, "Stay seated, and don't move. . . ." Up my nose goes the swab to tickle the back interior of my skull! The doc sticks the swab in a tube, asks me when do I need the results by, then sends me out saying I'll be getting my discharge (DISCHARGE!!!) papers on my way out. I didn't even realize I had been admitted, so why the "discharge"?!?!?!? But despite my governor whaling about how LONG it is taking to get COVID 19 Test results in NM, I'm told it should only be about 3 or 4 working days to get results because they are sending the test to Quest labs. Uh huh. The same flippin' lab I went to on Monday for the blood sacrafice my cardiologist needs for my appointment with him next week! So it would have been nice while the vampires were sucking my blood, one of them could've weilded a swab!

Where I go for blood work has a sign saying “We Do Not Test For Covid-19” even though it is technically the same lab covid tests are done through. Maybe same deal?

Might be, though the Quest where I went for a blood test actually does do COVID tests--just only on certain days of "drive thru" testing. And Ididn't think a Lyft driver would want to be in line for 4 or 5 hours.

There doesn’t seem to be any logic these days. Hope your results are quick and negative 😷

in our state, you only get the results if you are positive and it takes 1 week

Good morning 🌞

I had to chuckle at your description of the swab

test...

I had one too, when I had my surgery done in April.

I described it as trying to poke my eye 👁 ball, through my nose!

State of Montana quit dealing with Qwest,

Because it was taking 2 to 3 weeks to get the results.

Kinda makes it pointless!

If you have symptoms and go to the doctor or ER, they get results right away.

So more testing, more testing....

Doesn’t work here in beautiful Montana.
