Hello MS family

I have just come from the hospital where the love of my live is fighting for his life. He was fine Tuesday normal Bill helped a friend load several bales of hay,average day that night he started having chills & running a fever. Took 2 ibuprofen went to bed woke up 7:30 sick & heaving, spent the day in bed sleeping I kept checking him every couple of hours. He got up around 7:30 or so that evening with a rattling in his chest I told him tomorrow you are going to the Dr. Thursday he was worse I checked with his daughter she got off at 2:30 I called Dr got him an appt for 3:30. by then he was going from heaving one end to the other. Dr checked him out said he did not have covid or the flue but was so congested she thought he should go to the hospital for IV antibiotics to clear up what was going on. While she check what she needed he started seeing (viruses running running around & going up the wall & disappearing just before they reached the ceiling?? Yeah when the NP came back in I asked him if he wanted to tell her what he was seeing? OH YEAH they called an ambulance & he went to the hospital. Long story short he has a very bad case of bacteria pneumonia. They admitted him into ICU. To day the Drs decided this bacterial pneumonia had blown up his system causing fluid retention in his body, his kidneys are shutting down, he has very labored breathing & all of this combined is causing heart failure. He is now on a ventilator & is on dialysis. I am asking prayers for God to heal him. He is only 84 & we all need him. We lost his son last Nov. I don't think the family will survive loosing papaw this soon. I know God has more work for him to do right here on earth. God bless you all for your prayers. Mary

That's awful. I wish him and you all the best. Don't forget to look after yourself - easier said than done, but you still need to eat and sleep while he's ill.

You may find the ICUsteps community here on HealthUnlocked helpful while he is in ICU and afterwards. It's for ICU survivors and relatives of ICU patients.
