When can I stop wearing a mask and gloves?

My wife goes out regularly and my daughter had the COVID-19 virus 4 weeks ago (fever then and no symptoms now). They both live with me. When can I stop wearing a mask and gloves? I am 60 and have MS. Took Lemtrada a few years ago. Thanks!

I wouldn't take them off just yet. It's been only 4 weeks since they recovered.

Has your state stated that you must wear them in public?

Here in Illinois depending on where you're, you have to wear a mask gloves are optional when you have to go out.

We are also still on lock down as well til May 30

Do you think it will be until a vaccine is developed? Or a set time since my daughter has recovered? I don't leave the house. Alabama is "Considering" relaxing lockdown restrictions.

I would say from your daughter recovery.

As for a vaccine who knows if that will ever happen

I think that’s question best answered by your physician.

All of us know how difficult it is to remember to take a mask and gloves when we go out, as well as how difficult it is to wear them (my glasses fog, gloves make it impossible for my fingers to complete any task requiring dexterity like separating pieces of paper or plastic) BUT it's not only for your protection but for everyone else. We can carry this virus and spread it even when we are not infected or infected but asymtomatic. In your case, since your daughter was infected, you might be carrying a virus traveler. Until we all can be reliably tested to know that we are virus free or have immunity, the physical distancing/mask/gloves are probably with us for a while.

Indiana hasn't extended it yet. Supposedly this Friday is our last day at home. Personally I think it's to soon.

Why are you wearing a mask and gloves??? If your daughter was diagnosed with Covid-19 infection 4 weeks ago, of course she is no longer contagious & if you had gotten an asymptomatic infection YOU aren't contagious anymore.

There's no other reason you should wear mask or gloves, only if you think you may have covid-19 and don't wish to spread it to anyone else.

Confused!!

Since my wife is out and about she may get it and give it to me.
