I was so hopeful about my appointment. But before I even got there there was a very bad accident and I was redirected which add 15 minutes to my drive (I had to drive myself) then when I got close to the office I saw a fire truck in the parking lot and as I started to turn in an ambulance with sirens came rushing in. I zigzaged around that and the people that just stopped not knowing what to do and parked my car. I got in and hat to stop and get my temperature taken not a problem then I got up to the floor my doctor is on and I got so overwhelmed by all the people just seemed like to many in this space. Then on top of that the patient behind me did not keep her distance even though there was lots of signs and stickers on the floor reminding to keep 6 feet apart. When I got checked in fir my appointment my anxiety took over and I had a full blown panic attack my arms legs and whole body was shaking so bad I just wanted to get up and run out of there but I couldn't move. I didn't sit fir very long before I was called back as I went through the doors to the examination room area it was calming because I didn't see alot of people. The nurse was so comforting when I told her what I was feeling. My blood pressure was 178 over 123 with a wrist blood pressure monitor. She took me into another room and took it like she said the old fashioned way and it was 138 over 110. She stayed with me for longer than I think she would of and kept talking to me till I got calmer. When I saw my doctor she wanted to put me on psychiatric meds for anxiety but I told her no. Now we get to why I was really there. I will be getting my blood drawn in 2 months to check my white blood cell count and see her again in July. I asked her my questions and she has no clue if right now I could get covid again but feels confident that I am protected for 90 day from the time I got sick but I said I was concerned about my amune system being low because of the mavenclad she had no answer to that. I asked her when can I get the vaccine she is not sure but insisted that I get it. And didn't know which vaccine I should get. If I could find another neurologist that takes my insurance I would switch doctors but I had my pcp look and the only neurologist that take my insurance are a 4 hour drive from me. I plan on making some calls to see if there is anyone that can answer my questions. I don't want to take the vaccine till I am sure at what point I should. Sorry this is so long and if I miss spelled anything. I took a long nap after I got home and I plan on not doing anything tomorrow

My appointment with my neurologist
Praying for you and you received the answer to your question soon. God bless!
So sorry to hear about your stressful experience. I hope you will get some answers soon
I'm so glad you had an understand nurse while you were in the middle of the anxiety. I'm sorry it happened. I've only had mild anxiety, so I can only imagine what you must have been feeling. I hope you're feeling much better now.
You certainly have been through a unusual day, Turtlepie
You are wise to have all your questions answered before receiving the vaccine.
I would do the same.
Let us know what you decide to do.
Be Well
Thank you. I wish I could get a different neurologist but my insurance is the state insurance and there are no other doctors close but I could drive 4 hours to either Memphis or Knoxville or Chattanooga but that's never going to happen. I am so glad that I contacted the cdc and they sent my an email and advised me to wait until my blood levels are back to normal levels before I get my vaccine. I will be getting my first blood work in May and I will figure it out from there

What a crazy day!! I hope you’re able to rest now and not think about it. 💐
Sorry, you had so much trouble that day! The incidents up until you reached the Dr's office would unnerve anyone. As for COVID immunity. Half of my family has had COVID. Their Drs have all said they should have immunity for at least 90 days. So you can probably be assured you are ok for a couple of months anyway. A friend of mine also had COVID and later went to get her vaccine & they told her she should wait at least 90 days after having COVID to get the vaccine. I don't know which vaccine she was going to get or if it makes a difference. Most of the ones given around here were the 2 dose ones.
I am very well aware of the 90 days but I also just finished taking my mavenclad which lowers my white blood cell count which I don't know if that could put me at a risk. I think all of what happened before I got there and the over whelming amount of people and knowing that I just finished my medicine made this situation so overwhelming
I can only imagine how you must have felt that day. When we are overwhelmed we tend not to think clearly. Do keep in mind that if you and the other had masks on you are pretty safe unless someone actually sneezes or coughs right in your face. COVID isn't airborne, it has to have something to travel on, like tiny spit drops from a sneeze or a cough. If you don't touch your face or eat anything without washing your hands first you will be pretty safe even with a low white count. I haven't even caught a cold in the past 4+ years because I have been very careful about keeping my hands clean and away from my face. I don't touch door handles with my bare hands, I either wash or use sanitizer on my hands before eating or drinking. I did this even before COVID. H1N1 and SARS are almost as bad as COVID. My newest motto is "Wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands."
So sorry for all the stress and anxiety you had to deal with. I don’t do very good with those situations either. I was scheduled for my vaccine but got Covid the night before scheduled injection. Now I went 10 days after and I’m still positive and the said once I test negative I must wait 90 days before getting the vaccine. I’m so confused now I don’t know if I want to get the vaccine or not.
