New cast on my arm!

I went to the orthopedic dr today for a follow-up. I had to have it re-casted. Dr said it had shifted & the bone shortened or slipped sideways, They took the cast off & then put it in traction. Oh, how it hurt! While it was in traction he put the new cast on & then squeezed & squeezed my wrist. I told him He was causing me to think of all kinds of dirty words & that he could stop pulling on it anytime now. I told him he was acting like a typical man & not listening. He agreed & kept pulling on it. It's really hard to joke when you are in pain! So now I have a new pretty purple cast on my arm, but it's not hurting like it was before. Maybe it will heal correctly now! Hope those of you in the US have a happy, safe 4th!

Maybe you should have hit him with your walking stick so he knew what pain you were experiencing. Hopefully your arm will set properly now. Sorry that you had to go through all that, purple seems to be the in colour for breaks, Blessings Jimeka 🙏

Hope it heals correctly 👍. My ex brother in law broke his arch in his foot motorcycle racing. They ran pins up all five toes to set it. A month later a different specialist seen it and it had been set wrong 😯. Had to brakei it and reset it again. Good Luck 👍🙏😉 Ken 🐾🐾

I'm wincing at the thought of your pain. I wonder why he didn't give you novacaine injections before starting. When I arrived at the emergency room with my broken ankle, the first thing staff drs. did after xray was injecting novacaine into the nerves around the knee so they could relocate my foot. The repositioning felt weird but it wasn't painful. I wish you had been given pain relief!

Hmmm I'm thinking the novocaine injection might hurt just as much as the traction did. Luckily it didn't last much longer than 30 minutes & that I have a high tolerance to pain.

after the pain ,it is the least they can do is give you a pretty color cast!hope you are feeling better
