Cast #3?

I am now on cast #3 in 3 weeks. I had to go see the orthopedic dr again today, The cast that they put on last week slid off again. The dr first started talking surgery because the bone had slipped some, then he discussed it with the surgeon & they decided that it would probably be ok but I would have a little bump at the wrist. I am so ok with that! This time they put on a splint type cast that didn't have to go up to my shoulder. Just hope this one stays on!

Wow! You're going to get the record for most casts! Glad you don't need the surgery!

Jody had the same thing happen and when it healed she had a big knot on her wrist. Didn’t seem to bother her and was happy no surgery 👍. Hope it heals quickly 👍. Ken 🐾🐾

That's what they told me. Since I'm not going to be posing for Cover Girl I'm not too worried about a knot on my wrist!

I hope this one does the job!

What did he say the bump on your wrist would be? Bone? Ganglion cyst?

He said it would be the way the bone heals.

I see.

Hope this one works. How many autographs did you collect on the last 2? Glad you escaped the need for surgery. 🎉👍

No autographs on either cast, although people asked if they could.

What a relief, that you didn’t have to go through all that pain again. Maybe this splint will work better at keeping your bones in place. Blessings Jimeka 🤗 🍫 💐

If the third time's the charm, this should do the trick!

hairbrain4 , I've had some fractures and each time there was more than one cast. At first there was swelling, and after a while the swelling went down and the cast was all wobbly and heavy to drag around. I was glad to have the better-fitting cast. Hope your experience will mean an improvement for you as well, and that's really good news that you can skip the surgery. A couple of times surgery was recommended for my fractures (wrist, ankle) but I turned it down, and I've lived many years since then. Yes, I do have arthritis in the fracture areas but I was told to expect that anyway. I was told that anyone over 30 can't expect to heal up as good as new after a fracture. Not good news but the arthritis has been manageable with aspirin. There's some disfigurement in my right wrist, and sometimes there's a bump where a bone juts out, but it goes away at other times. For many years I couldn't do certain movements with my hand but that got better very gradually.

You have lived almost exactly what the dr said, That's why I opted for no surgery. I'm 64 & it just didn't seem necessary to go through the surgery, 30 years ago maybe.
