Big Win!

I have been getting bad headaches, mostly migraines, lately, and I was having trouble finding something that would help with them. I had to try two different medications before I got approved for the really good stuff. The cash price for it, without insurance, is ten tablets for $1142!! I got approved and I paid $1.80 for 20 tablets. I feel so happy that I went through the process and that I got approved for it. The cost of some of these medicines is so high. If you are going through something like this, hang in there and jump through the hoops, it is worth it! Enjoy the thought that spring is coming, with sunshine and flowers 💐! Kelly

Good job Kelly, I don't know if you got 1 of the newer meds. for migraines, but if you still are having issues with migraines, there's a preventative med. that works great for me over a yr. called Qulipta. I'm not a dr. of course but I've had migraines since a teenager. Wish you the best. Leslie

Yay, Kelly! Great job hanging in there and getting what you needed. I am having awful problems with migraine-related dizziness. I'm so glad to hear that if one or two meds don't work, others will. Thanks. ❤️

Thanks! I’m pretty stubborn and I will hang in there when other people might throw in the towel. I was getting tired of the dizziness and headaches.

Imitrex nasal spray is generic now—sumatriptan, so insurance overs it—does not go to the stomach, so no stomachache.

Sumatriptan is what my neuro put me on last year for the break through migraines I was getting as I already take meds for them but was getting ones that would breakthrough. Sumatriptan has been a game changer! And now my insurance is allowed to send a 3 month supply of the 9 count pills.

So what is this wonderful drug?

CatsandCars profile image
CatsandCars in reply toBettysMom

I was wondering the same thing. It seems like there is a wide variation in who responds to a particular drug?

Amore55 in reply toBettysMom

Sorry I took so long to respond! It’s Ubrelvy. I was wrong about the cost, the cash price was $2200!

SO happy to hear this good news! You might need to share relevant tips.. I was fighting for a bladder med ( also very expensive) with my commercial insurance but now I’m going to be using my Medicare in a month.. we searched thru all the plan D’s and no one covers it.

I've suffered from migraines for many years and found that excedrine for migraines work wonders however ; because of the caffeine in it, it makes sleeping a little difficult
