What words would you use to describe MS?

1. Pernicious (I had to look that one up)

2. Non-contagious (Thankfully)

3. Incurable (Unfortunately)

4. Progressive (Definitely)

5. Non-genetic (?) ( My daughter has also been diagnosed with MS)

6. Non-mortal (Mostly)

Any more?

Never heard that used as an adjective. Damnable perhaps?

Me either, that's what I get for not following the rules.🤣

No rules, MS doesn't seem to follow any, either.

Interesting and transformational

Transformational, definitely. Interesting, I guess so, but I wish I didn't have the need to be interested.

I don't really have anything other than, "my immune system is so overpowered that it goes for my nerves," often with a quick wave of my hand around my head 😅

Understandable.

I can’t believe how many people here in Pocatello have asked me if it is contagious! Come on, I guess I thought people knew that it is not.

whwiechm profile image
whwiechm in reply toAmore55

Lately with all the Covid, Flu, and now Measles, I guess people are more alert to health problems and need to learn more. Maybe this is a good thing. Also if people are more aware of MS and the problems it incurs, maybe it will spur research into a cure (wouln't that be great!).

Painful, inconvenient, rude, confusing, problematic, expensive, inconsiderate, strength causing mentally, destructive, emotional, shall I go on?

Many possible symptoms

whwiechm profile image
whwiechm in reply tosashaming1

Sometimes they seem endless, and it is hard to decide if a symptom is MS, or a new condition.

MS Miracle Savior! Illness is a mindset; sometimes the more we give -in to it, the worse we feel. My precious Savior is capable of miracles, even when we don’t see them! Diagnosed in 2008, still have more “good days-than bad days, I won’t complain.”

Thief in the night. Because one day I woke up not being able to walk after changing my eating habits to live a healthier life. Then MS took control. I really wish I could exercise again but it seems impossible for me as I get wore down so fast. So I'm trying to figure out what I can do for exercise. After spending months in the hospital my weight is getting out of control when this happened i was 190lbs now I'm close to 270. Not cool. I need to figure out an exercise i can do, to lose the weight. That's why I say a "Thief in the night" it's so strange because my life was on the right track then MS hit me and my life has changed. I've lost relationships my business, and friends because I am sick. I know I have limits but I have to figure out something.

WOW! That's a big problem. This disease ha individual symptoms and requires individual responses to these symptoms. I wish you luck in finding your solution (or workaround).

Curious, sometimes predictably predictable, sometimes abusive, often fickle, and perhaps irrevocable (physically, emotionally, etc).
