I've seen a lot of conversations on here around living into your values, which can really really really help as you navigate OCD. But OCD can also make it seem so scary and irresponsible!!! To chat a little more about this and living a "values-driven life," join us for tonight's IOCDF town hall. I'm excited to moderate with some truly amazing experts.

Thank you SOOO Much Katie!!! It was Really good. I was diagnosed with OCD in my early 20’s but can look back Much younger and see I Definitely had it then. Anyway I moved overseas for 20 years where they only had psychiatrist and I only had therapist the last few years. I came back to the states 12 years ago and was diagnosed with two co existing disorders. My last therapist suggested I see a new therapist who specializes in one of the other disorders. I’m starting a zoom group Nov2nd, but it’s for 6 months and then she said I could REALLY get to the OCD. My Therapist I will see once a week also, but we will be working on group stuff. I need some help with OCD. I know A Lot about ocd by now, but is there anything you can think of where I could get some extra help? Maybe through the OCD foundation? I really don’t know. My Therapist does not specialize or list ocd as something she works with. She says she has, but I asked her an ocd question and she seemed clueless. ANY suggestions would be Very helpful!! I guess I should tell you the other diagnosis about 6 years ago I was diagnosed with being bipolar by a psychiatrist then recently my last therapist said I was also borderline which is VERY upsetting to me to go 20 something years and to have just been diagnosed with this at 58 years old.
I'm so glad this resonated with you. I'm so sorry you've struggled for so long - I can totally relate. I completely respect your therapist wishing to tackle things in a particular order. I'm also so glad you have diagnoses - I know that is helpful but also so frustrating when it takes so long. I wonder - have you talked at all about Exposure and Response Prevention? Are you familiar with ERP? I'm happy to share resources on this
