Abilify

Seeing my dr next week and going to ask about adding abilify to my depressant. Was previously prescribed risperidone but was afraid to take it. A friend just told me that abilify is supposed to clear your thinking (her son took it). Can anyone tell me of their experiences ... both good and bad ... with this drug? Anyone been on it long term? I assume I will start with a very low dose. Thank you.

If you don't mind me asking, are you currently psychotic? Or does ocd disorient your thought pattern?

I can say Abilify helped me but made me half asleep and half energized, so it was a no for me. Risperdal helped me but made me have man boobs, but it helped.

So no weight gain on the abilify, and yes to Risperdal

For me it was a low dose 10 mg's. The risperdal was 2mg. And yes my ocd makes me psychotic.

In all honesty the one that helped me the most was abilify.

Well it was pretty long time ago, but it helped my magical thinking, and some of my betting.
