Hi All, my GP surgery has booked me in for a third Covid vaccine tomorrow. I have ET Jak2+ and am on Pegasys. Feeling very relieved! Lou xx
Third covid vaccine tomorrow: Hi All, my GP... - MPN Voice
Third covid vaccine tomorrow
Good news. My third dose did give me a flu-like reaction for 24 hours. Totally worth it. WAY better than getting COVID.
Hi, I was the same after the first jab… second was fine. Can I ask which vaccine you had for your third? Thank you.
Moderna for all three
Interesting how individual our responses have been to these jabs. The same has been true for my friends and family with no underlying conditions. Some have felt really poorly, others completely fine.
As you say though, a short term period of flu like symptoms is definitely better than getting Covid and being really ill.
That’s great news!
I have had a text saying i will receive my flu and booster at the same time. It wont be until at least 6 months after my 2nd jab so thats another month for me.
Glad to know im in the queue though.
Hi Loubielou, ,good news ! I must admit I was in two minds about the booster but a youngish member of my extended family has just got Covid along with 3 of her co workers , all local and I know a couple of others down with it. So as it's very likely to be a Pfizer jab this time I will be opting in. Haven't been contacted yet but then again my surgery isn't always proactive although to their credit they have booked my wife and I in for flu jabs.
Regards - Chris
PS your name reminds me of Andy Pandy on Watch With Mother back when I was a kid in the 60s - think it was Looby Loo though 😃
Great news as far as we all know. I had my 3rd dose of Pfizer vaccine about 3 weeks ago. Had a slightly sore arm no other side effects. Hope you do as well or better. Good luck to you.
Hi, I had my 3rd Pfizer shot 9/1/21 and had a very strong reaction. I'm on Pegasy's (22.5mcg weekly) and PV/Jak2. (I'm in real good physical shape-work out daily) Please note that the first two Pfizer shots I was not on Pegasys or any medicine and had very mild reaction (mild headache). This 3rd shot I had extreme knee joint pain, horrible whole arm pain, body hot all over, total brain fog and fatigue. This lasted 2 days and I still feel not completely right......in terms of periodic brain fogginess and fatigue. I contribute this to an interaction between Pegasys and Pfizer shot. I actually skipped a week of Pegasys injection just to let the shot do what it needs to do. We all interact differently with drugs and I've been told by my hematologist that I'm an extreme lightweight!! 22.5mcg of Pegasys as you know is very very little!! If I were to do this all over again, in hindsight, I would have quit the Pegasys for 2 weeks while getting the shot and then resumed. Just wanted to give my feedback. Take care. Kerry
I have mine on Saturday also ET Jak2 on Pegasus. Quite ill after the first 2 Oxford ones so not super keen but different jab this time so 🤞 should be fine
Thank you
I dont think I will be getting mine until October. Does anyone know at this point if the vaccines produce antibodies in people with MPNs?
Hi Jenny, The Blood Cancer UK website has some research on this - please see link below (hope it works)! x
Thank you!
